Hijack Season 1 Episode 3 Recap
In Episode 3 of “Hijack,” the tension continues to rise as the hijacking of flight KA29 unfolds. With the help of her keen intuition, Alice Sinclair learns the true circumstances surrounding the hijack and notifies Zahra Gahfoor (Archie Panjabi) of the UK counterterrorism squad. They alert the flight control crew to the plane’s departure from its regularly scheduled course, which raises questions.
Sam Nelson overhears an Arabic-language chat between a couple on the plane. The hijackers’ fake guns are disclosed by the wife’s husband, Yussuf. Another passenger, Hugo, decides to look into the situation on his own. Sam recommends against it since it might put their rescue strategy in jeopardy. Hugo deceives Jamie into going to the restroom with him by seeming ill, which gives him the opportunity to covertly pass a note requesting a search for bullets.
Stuart returns Captain Robin to the cockpit as the control crew in Istanbul tries to make contact with the aircraft. They find that the plane has deviated from its intended course. Nasir, a passenger, requests access to his uncle’s insulin from the medicine cabinet, but the hijacker Jaden (Mohamed Elsandel) refuses. Stuart commands Jamie Constantinou (Aimée Kelly) to scare travelers.
While Kai tries to assist his father, Marsha (Christine Adams) goes to a job interview. Sam receives Miranda’s indication that there are no bullets on the ground. Sam and Stuart clash as Stuart confronts Captain Robin Allen (Ben Miles) after suspecting his communication. Stuart switches off the screens because he starts to lose control.
Sam wants to find out if the hijackers’ firearms are loaded with blanks because communication has been cut off. They are told by Arthur that a blank bullet was discovered in the restroom. Hugo and Sam make preparations to eliminate the hijackers. Sam is able to progress toward the economic class due to Nasir’s attempt to get his uncle’s medication. He fights Terry, but Jonty intervenes to save him. With a gunshot as the episode’s final sound, the result is left undetermined.
The conclusion leaves viewers guessing as to whether Sam is still secure and whether the hijackers’ weapons actually have blank rounds in them. While the hijackers execute their plan in accordance with Stuart’s directives, the counter-terrorism department conducts its investigation.
