With the second season of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON drawing to a close, a fiery battle is brewing. Episode 6, which is a little over an hour long, keeps building up the drama and tension. Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) wants to make her side, the Blacks, stronger because they are outnumbered and under-dragoned. She tries to find lower-class nobles with Targaryen blood who might be able to ride dragons. There is a lot at stake in this dangerous plan because failed attempts can be fatal. Back in King’s Landing, the rulers are having trouble keeping the peace because there isn’t enough food for the people.

Rhaenyra’s efforts to find new dragon riders show that she has Targaryen blood, but the arguments between her advisors make it hard to trust her as a leader. At the end of the episode, a potential dragon rider tries to bond with a dragon, which leads to a dramatic moment that leaves viewers eagerly anticipating the next episode.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6 Recap

In this week’s HOUSE OF THE DRAGON episode, King Aegon wakes up. Upon waking up, he is in a lot of pain and faces threats and physical pain from his power-hungry brother Aemond. His Master of Whispers, Larys Strong, also tries to control him.

When Aegon wakes up, he can’t stop crying because Larys makes fun of his flaws and tells him that people will feel sorry for him and make fun of him in the future. In the meantime, King Viserys shows up in Daemon’s dreams and is sad about Queen Aemma. When Daemon wakes up, this makes him feel very upset.

In a different part of the realm, Jason Lannister leads soldiers to meet House Lefford at the Golden Tooth. They are getting ready to march on Harrenhal when Aemond and Vhagar arrive. Even so, Aemond refuses to be called and, at a small council meeting, suggests working together with the Triarchy to break through Corlys’ blockade. People don’t like this idea, so Aemond fires his mother, Alicent, from the council as an act of pride.

That’s not the end of Aemond’s rejection. Larys goes to see Aegon and tells him that Aemond’s job as king regent puts Aegon’s life in danger. At the same time, Viserys visits Daemon in his dream, but Ser Simon Strong wakes him up. Daemon, who is crazy and paranoid, says that Ser Simon poisoned him and gets ready to leave.

Because of Baela’s influence on her grandfather, he goes to the black council meeting with Rhaenyra. Because he is related to the Targaryen family, she tells Ser Steffon Darklyn that he could be their next dragon rider. But Ser Steffon’s painful death comes after the dragon torches him while he is trying to bond with Seasmoke.

Lord Bartimos Celtigar criticizes Rhaenyra, but she shows her power by slapping him. Even though things are going badly, Mysaria reassures Rhaenyra of the growing opposition in King’s Landing and her resolve, which leads to a private moment between them. The news comes in that Seasmoke was seen with a rider, which makes Rhaenyra want to look into it.

Daemon blames those around him for betrayal because he is still having dreams about Viserys. He finally leaves after asking Alys for advice. She tells him to be patient and warns him about the Tullys’ power in the Riverlands. Daemon’s dreams about Aemma and Viserys keep coming back to him, full of sadness and regret.

People in King’s Landing are getting more hungry and angry. Larys gives Aemond advice, but he turns him down for the job of Hand of the King in favor of Otto Hightower. Then Aemond goes to see Aegon and tells him not to talk about the battle. Alicent is worried about her sons while Ser Criston and Gwayne ride off to fight.

Corlys Velaryon wants to have a son, so he offers Alyn the job of first mate. Alyn hesitates at first but finally agrees. When Addam is looking for food on the beach, he comes across Seasmoke. She looks at him with interest, which could mean that he is looking for a new rider.

As Ulf, the self-proclaimed Targaryen jerk, whines about not having enough food in the taverns of King’s Landing, the tension rises. The brothel madame talks about how rich the Red Keep is to help Rhaenyra. Alicent and Helaena are caught in the middle of all the noise and chaos in King’s Landing as people scream for food. Alicent is slandered and hit with fish guts, and Helaena is taken away from the others. In the chaos, they just barely make it to safety as cries of “Queen Rhaenyra!” can be heard behind them.
