After a long wait, HBO finally released the official trailer for the second season of House of the Dragon. Fantasy fans are in for a treat. The second season of the show, which is a prequel to the famous Game of Thrones, will start on June 16 and have eight exciting episodes.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, this season will go into more detail about the violent civil war in House Targaryen. The trailer hints at intense battles, political intrigue, and the complicated relationships within the Targaryen family, indicating that the epic continuation of the story is on the way. Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, and other well-known actors are coming back to the group. New actors like Simon Russell Beale, Tom Taylor, and Vincent Regan have joined the group, which makes the story even more interesting.
The new trailer for Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” looks like the story of the Targaryen family will continue to be very interesting. Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), who are half-siblings, are still the main focus of the show because they are fiercely competing for control of the Seven Kingdoms.
Right now, Aegon II is on the Iron Throne, with his mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and grandpa Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) by his side. Rhaenyra and her uncle-husband Daemon (Matt Smith), on the other hand, are not giving up. They have plans to fight back against Dragonstone.
The trailer gives us a taste of how important Rhaenyra’s choice to go to war was. She knows that the ruler must also be the Protector of the Realm and is aware of the dangers of civil war. But Rhaenyra thinks that war is the only way to get to the throne because she wants to get revenge for the death of her son Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) by Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) in the season 1 end.
As dragons take to the skies, fans can expect epic fights, especially ones that happen in the air. Aegon rides Sunfyre, Aemond rides Vhagar, and Rhaenys (Eve Best) rides Meleys, all of whom are expected to get into a fiery fight.
The trailer also shows Rhaenyra’s son Jacaerys (Harry Collett) with Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor) in the North, which suggests a trip back to Winterfell and possible alliances that could change the war.
Season 2 of House of the Dragon is sure to captivate viewers once again with its great cast, complex plot, and amazing visuals. Get ready to be enthralled as the fight for the Iron Throne goes on.
