All American: Homecoming on
The CW ended its three-season run on a strong note, with Simone Hicks’s story arriving at its conclusion. The conclusion concentrated on the tennis court, just as it all started, but the true drama happened off-court. Early this year, the series – a spin-off of All American was canceled, which gives the ending more of a finality.
All American: Homecoming: Season 3, Episode 13: Love triangle resolution
Simone Hicks
(Geffri Maya), who found herself enmeshed in a love triangle between Lando Johnson
(Martin Bobb-Semple) and Damon Sims
(Peyton Alex Smith), drove the finale. Simone and Lando were on the verge of confessing their love for one another as the series finale drew to an end when Damon unexpectedly returned.
Simone did tell Lando she loved her, but initially Lando, now uncomfortable after seeing Simone re-connect with Damon, turned her down. Lando changed his mind, though, following some soul-searching and a pep talk from Simone to Cam on overcoming anxieties in marriage. Later that evening, he visited Simone and told her how she had added delight and beauty into his life. At last Lando returned her affection, telling Simone, “I want you. I wish we had. Their amorous doubt came to an end when they kissed to confirm their fresh understanding. Sensing the close relationship between
Simone and Lando, Damon kindly moved aside, realizing their time apart had transformed them.
Simone’s cancer reveal
Simone’s use of cancer meds led to suspicions on performance-enhancing substances on the tennis court. Simone had been hiding her breast cancer diagnosis, but she chose to come clean when even her colleagues began to doubt her sincerity. In a poignant moment, she told her team players and the journalist interviewing her her diagnosis, wanting to encourage young women to pay attention to their bodies and speak for themselves.
When Simone walked onto the court for the conference finals, she was greeted with an incredible show of support despite her concerns of being judged or pitied. Her colleagues, the audience, even her opponent all gave her a standing ovation to honor her bravery and tenacity.
NATE’S JOURNEY AND A LOVE STORY’S END
While Nate
(Rhoyle Ivy King) had a moment elsewhere getting off the Bringston Law waitlist, her personal life suffered. After journalist boyfriend Ryan dug into his private notes in search of justice in Ezra’s case, Nate’s relationship with him broke down. Feeling deceived, Ryan told Nate he couldn’t be with someone he couldn’t trust, which caused their split.
KEISHA’S LOVE TRIANGLE LEFT UNRESOLVED
Keisha
(Netta Walker) found herself stuck between Cam
(Mitchell Edwards) and JR
(Sylvester Powell) in a really convoluted plot. She said she wanted to break free from her “self-sabotage era,” and concentrate on herself, but her emotionally charged dance performance with Cam suggested there might be more to their relationship. The last scene, nevertheless, had Cam and JR still fighting for Keisha’s attention, so leaving the result of this love triangle open-ended. The surprising termination of All American: Homecoming offers viewers with some closure but also some questions since several storylines were left unanswered.
MARCUS AND NOAH’S NEW BEGINNING
Marcus
(Cory Hardrict) has family trouble of his own. Though his ex-wife Crystal objected, he brought his son Noah for a mental health assessment worried he might have inherited his bipolar illness. Noah was not diagnosed with the condition in the end, and the last scene showed Noah requesting to spend the summer with Marcus, a touching scene for the father-son pair.
