“I LOVE BOOSTERS,” the next film directed by Boots Riley, who made his film debut in 2018 with “SORRY TO BOTHER YOU,” will be released. Production on this new Neon-produced project is scheduled to start in Oakland, California on August 15, 2024.
Keke Palmer plays Corvette, the head of the Velvet Gang, a bunch of female shoplifters, in the movie. Living in the kitchen of an abandoned church, Corvette and her friends make ends meet by “boosting” department store purchases. Christie Smith, the CEO of a designer business that has pilfered the design of a Corvette, is their most recent target. The Velvet Gang decides to take down Christie as a result of this theft, unintentionally starting a revolution.
For this movie, Riley, who also wrote the screenplay, is working with producers Andrew Swett and Aaron Ryder. The casting director is Rebecca Dealy, and the cinematographer is Natasha Braier.

Boots declared his support for Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont in the 2020 U.S. presidential election in February 2020.
