Superstar baseball player Ken Sato discovers more than he anticipated when he returns to Japan to assume the role of the Earth-defending superhero Ultraman. He is compelled to raise a baby Kaiju, the progeny of his deadliest enemy. Similar to the previous series, Kaijus featured evil monsters endangering the harmony of the cosmos. In order to grow up and learn what it really means to be an Ultraman, Ken must face his ego, his estranged father, and the cunning Kaiju Defense Force. He struggles to combine his roles as a teammate and a new parent.
The adored Japanese character is given a fresh perspective in the upcoming animated movie. After its 1966 debut, the original Ultraman series immediately became a significant pop culture sensation in Japan, inspiring a number of sequels, spin-offs, and products.
According to the film’s creators Shannon Tindle and John Aoshima, “With this film, we’re merging old and new, combining our love for the original Ultraman with a bold new look drawn from manga, anime, and, of course, the original series.”
