Before the fourth season of FBI: Most Wanted, another cast member will be leaving the show. Special Agent Ivan Ortiz has left ‘FBI: Most Wanted plays Miguel Gomez. Seasons 4 and 5 of FBI: Most Wanted are on the way.
This news comes just months after Julian McMahon, the show’s original lead, left CBS. McMahon was replaced as the team’s leader by Dylan McDermott, who had recently finished his recurring role on Law & Order: Organized Crime (another Dick Wolf series). McDermott, as well as fellow series regulars Keisha Castle-Hughes, Roxy Sternberg, and Alexa Davalos, will return in Season 4.
So, what made Miguel Gomez leave FBI: Most Wanted in the first place?
According to Deadline, Miguel Gomez, who joined the FBI spinoff as Special Agent Ivan Ortiz in Season 2, is departing the series due to a creative decision.
Ivan joined the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force following stints with the LAPD’s gang section and the FBI’s counter-terror squad. Miguel joined the CBS procedural midway during its second season. However, it appears that the actor’s final episode on FBI: Most Wanted was the Season 3 finale
He isn’t the first member of the cast of ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ to leave the show.
The cast of FBI: Most Wanted has seen a lot of changes. Miguel was cast after Nathaniel Arcand, who played Clinton Skye, left the program. Kellan Lutz departed Most Wanted at the beginning of Season 3 because his character, Kenny Crosby, was recovering from a gunshot wound. Then, early in Season 3, YaYa Gosselin, who plays Tali LaCroix, transitioned from full-time to recurring star. After Julian McMahon chose to leave the series, the lead character Jess LaCroix died later in the season.
Gomez Miguel played former criminal Augustin “Gus” Elizalde in the FX vampire thriller The Strain. He played Rafi, the baby daddy, in the Showtime sitcom SMILF. He also had a recurring role as boxer Ricky Leon on L.A.’s Finest.
