IS THEM (2021) ON AMAZON BASED ON A TRUE STORY?

Amazon‘s Them (2021)” is an interesting TV show that looks at racism and discrimination in the United States in the 1950s. Racists and angry people treat them badly because they are the first Black family to live in the area. The family, especially mother Lucky Emory (Deborah Ayorinde), starts to see and hear strange things in their home. This makes their lives even scarier and more dangerous.

The show is set up as an anthology, with a new story and group of people explored in each season. This lets the show go into a lot of detail about different parts of American history and culture, using horror as a way to look at problems of race, class, and identity. People who watch are taken on an exciting and thought-provoking journey as the family deals with both supernatural and real-life horrors.

IS THEM (2021) ON AMAZON BASED ON A TRUE STORY?

“Amazon’s Them (2021)” is not based on a true story, but it is based on things that really happened in history. They are based on real-life examples of racism and discrimination that Black people have had to deal with throughout history. There were housing covenants in Los Angeles in the 1950s, which is a real event that was put into the show. These covenants kept property from being sold to people who were not white, which successfully separated neighborhoods. Little Marvin, who made the show, has said that it is based on the real-life challenges and unfair treatment of Black people in America, both in the past and the present.

The Black-Hat Man is a supernatural character in the show. His origin story is based on the past of racism and bigotry in the United States. The character’s past, which takes place in the 1800s, shows how white towns treated black people badly and didn’t see them as human.

The eighth episode, tells the story of how the Black-Hat Man, the spirit that is torturing Lucky Emory, came to be. Hiram Epps was the first person who was known as the Black-Hat Man (Christopher Heyerdahl ). He lived in the town of Eidolon, California, in the 1800s. After the deaths of his wife and son, Epps, who has a deep faith, turns to God for help. He takes in a boy named Miles and thinks he is the answer to his prayers.

Based on what the Bible says, when Grafton and Martha, a Black couple, come to town looking for help, Epps accepts them. But people in the community start to doubt the couple, and when Martha is blamed for being bad, Epps turns against them. They are slaves, and when they try to run away, the society catches them, blinds them, and burns them alive.

Epps thought Miles was a gift from God, but it turns out that Miles was actually a spirit or even the Devil himself. Miles makes a deal with Epps that he can stay alive as long as he hurts Black people in East Compton. When Epps agrees, the neighborhood goes up in flames.

Little Marvin, who wrote “Amazon’s Them (2021),” has said that it’s important to tell a story that shows how Black Americans are oppressed and raced in society as a whole. He has said that the magical parts of the show are made up, but they are meant to represent the horrible things that Black people have been through in real life.

To sum up, “Amazon’s Them (2021)” is a strong and thought-provoking show that uses horror and the supernatural to look at America’s deep-seated racism and discrimination problems. The story is made up, but the themes are based on harsh truths from history. This makes it both an interesting drama and a powerful social satire.
