Yes, Detective Jamie Whelan is dead in Law & Order: Organized Crime. The Season 4 premiere, “Memory Lane,” reveals the aftermath of Whelan’s death, casting a somber tone over the storyline. Detective Elliot Stabler returns from an undercover assignment, deeply affected by Whelan’s demise.

In the Law & Order: SVU crossover ending, Brent Antonello’s character was shot.  The first part of the episode is a return to Christmastime, showing how Linda Wilkie’s son Kyle makes a dark website called Shadowërk and puts disturbing things on it.. Officers Reyes and Whelan, along with Captain Olivia Benson and Detective Elliot Stabler, are trying to find Kyle. The team is getting more and more tense as they try to find Kyle, whose website is hidden behind many proxies. At a diner, an attacker attacks Stabler and Benson. Liv is shot in the hip, and since Stabler can’t see well, Liv tells him how to kill the attacker. The shooter is killed. The climax takes place at a site, where Kyle, armed with a sword, refuses to give up. It leads to a dramatic fight in which both Kyle and Whelan are hurt.

He is shot in the neck during a fight, which leaves him paralyzed. Even though people are trying to save him, the bullet goes through his back and stops him completely. When Whelan’s father hears that his son wants to end his pain, he makes the sad choice to grant that wish. In the end, Jamie Whelan dies from his injuries, which is a sad and important part of the show.
