On tonight’s Magnum P.I. season 4 episode 13, Magnum played by Jay Hernandez and Higgins’ newest client was Judge Rachel Park (Moon Bloodgood). The judge was recently nominated to the Hawaii Supreme Court, which was revealed last week, but now that her name is in the headlines, someone has tried to blackmail her. Her past was being used to blackmail her. Park’s scholarship ran out during her final year of law school, and she had to rely on student loans to make ends meet.
Prostitution was the only other choice. Rachel enlisted the help of an escort agency. Halia Hickam, a lady she worked for, was her boss. If that was her real name, that is. This Hickam was in charge of everything, and it was she who set the dates and locations. She has to be involved in the production as well. Rachel never agreed to be videotaped in the first place. A john setting up a camera would have caught her attention.
It had to be the madam’s fault. The judge was threatened with a still photograph of her life at the time, so the two private investigators set out to find her. They discovered her keeping an eye on her grandchildren. The woman has been out of the workforce for a long time. She now goes by her legal name, but she admits to secretly recording customers and utilizing that information to blackmail them into making further money. She didn’t use it to extort money from the judge. Sheila stated that she would never betray her daughters. Normally, no. She finally handed over the judge’s video because a woman approached her and threatened her reputation. And she couldn’t afford to let that happen just now.
Sheila described the woman who had blackmailed her to them. The woman had a snake tattoo on her neck and was tough. The two private investigators visited their detective pal. They inquired about the woman they sought, and he provided them with a name. Maya (Maya Stojan) is her name. She’s a savior. She used to be a lawyer, according to rumors, but she was disbarred. Since then, she’s been taking money from powerful people to arrange cases for them, and the two private investigators called Rachel to inform her that the blackmail wasn’t related to her candidacy at the same time she was finding it out.
A second untraceable text message was sent to Rachel. This new communication informs her that she must dismiss a murder case against a man called Reed, who is accused of murdering his hedge fund partner. Rachel would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever She wants the blackmailer apprehended and the proof destroyed, but Magnum and Higgins (Perdita Weeks) were lagging behind Maya and couldn’t seem to catch up. After they broke into the defense lawyer’s office, Maya was able to phone the cops. They were imprisoned. They had to rely on Kumu to save them. They also didn’t have much time between their incarceration and the judge’s expected dismissal of the case.
They also ran into Maya once they were released. She invited them to lunch and basically reminded them that they had nothing on her and that she was in complete control. She advised them to persuade their client to dismiss the matter. She even attempted bribing them to drop it, but they refused. Of course, they declined. Magnum and Higgins had a reputation for always doing the right thing for their customers. They were out of choices and decided to enlist the help of their pal Gordon. They bugged the courthouse with Gordon’s help so that when the judge declared that someone was attempting to blackmail her, it caused a panic.
It turns out that the wife of the murder victim was not as blameless as she claimed. Maya was attempting to liberate an innocent man so that no one would be held accountable for a crime she had done, and by bringing the cops in, they were able to apprehend both the guilty party and Maya. Maya took meticulous notes on everything. She handed over evidence in exchange for probation, and now it was up to the judge to decide the rest. Before the cops could get their hands on the judge’s tape, it was destroyed. Rachel, on the other hand, had had enough of living in dread. She revealed her background in a press conference, and it’s unclear whether she’ll remain on the Hawaiian Supreme Court.
They also suffered a setback as a result of this lawsuit. They still had to pay the bail money, and they learned from Maya that things weren’t finished yet. In addition, Rick (Zachary Knighton) was allowing the tavern to become a historical monument in order to raise funds for the baby.
