This weekend marks the return of THE PREMIER LEAGUE, and there are several games to keep an eye on, starting with an old rivalry between Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in the 12.30 p.m. kickoff.
After their humiliating loss to Brighton at Old Trafford last week, all eyes will be on Manchester United’s away game against Brentford later this evening to see if Erik ten Hag can turn things around. Before that, however, there is a tonne of other Premier League action, beginning with Aston Villa vs. Everton.
For the first time as rival managers, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard will stand in opposing dugouts. Both teams will be seeking a victory to help them get their seasons going after Villa fell to Bournemouth and Everton came close to defeating Chelsea.
Following that, attention will quickly go to the 3pm matches, which feature matches between Manchester City and Arsenal versus Bournemouth and Leicester, respectively. However, there could also be a lot of goals scored in contests played at Molineux, St. Mary’s, and the Amex.
After that, Brentford will play host Manchester United in an evening game that begins at 5.30 p.m. Christian Eriksen will be playing for the team that gave him a chance the previous year. After their demoralizing loss to Brighton last week, Ten Hag will need to find a way to motivate his team, with Cristiano Ronaldo expected to start.

Next is Liverpool
After this outcome, Manchester United is now in dire need of a positive outcome. But when they play Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, it will be one of the toughest challenges in football. Given what they have witnessed from their team today, the Old Trafford crowd will probably be on edge.
Manchester United was in shambles.

The same old thing – Not exactly the quick start to the second half that Erik ten Hag would have preferred. Cristiano Ronaldo had a few half-chances, but Brentford is still in command and appears to have the best chance of scoring a fifth.

Half-time
Erik ten Hag has been anxiously awaiting the start of halftime so he can send his players in to try to fix his disaster. To prevent United from suffering their worst-ever Premier League defeat, there will be a lot of work to be done during the break. The current mark is five goals, after they fell to Tottenham in 2020 and Man City in 2011, respectively, by scores of 6-1. The Red Devils also suffered 5-0 losses against Chelsea in 1999, Newcastle in 1996, and Liverpool in 2001.

Why is Manchester United suffering right now? They send too many players forward, allowing Brentford to counterattack. With the help of United’s defense, Bryan Mbuemo triumphs in the race and finishes skillfully. Incredible from the hosts!

Right now, Brentford is in a fantasy world! Man United’s defence is all over the place as Lisandro Martinez is uncovered. Ben Mee nods in from a close distance while standing tall.

For Manchester United, things are getting worse! United’s insistence on playing out from the back and Brentford’s constant closing down are both persistent. Christian Eriksen receives a suicide pass from De Gea, who then quickly dispossesses him so Mathias Jensen may score. Disastrous!

Josh Dasilva’s optimistic attempt from the edge of the box appears to be a simple catch for the Spaniard. De Gea, though, allowed the ball to evade his grasp and go into the goal!
