The coming-of-age drama from co-writer/director Fabio Frey and co-writer/star Correa’s My Dead Dad is a quirky and engrossing tale of life. The film won the Jacksonville Film Festival’s Jury Award for “Best Feature Film” and the Santa Clarita International Film Festival’s “Best Feature Award” for Drama.
The film stars Pedro Correa as young Lucas, who takes on the burden of managing an inherited apartment complex in Los Angeles after learning of his estranged father’s death. Lucas meets the varied inhabitants, determined to sell the complex without hesitation, and soon realizes his father is not the same guy he knew.
