Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

In this episode, Ace and Nancy continue their attempts to break their curse but fail once again. Bess suggests using a Plagonia Doll as a supernatural battery pack after discovering a Greek ceremony used to break love curses. They locate the doll and keep it in a safe container.  To increase donations, Bess is conducting tours at the Historical Society. George’s sister Jessie is currently seeing Birdie, the girl who escaped the fire souls on Moonstone Island. Birdie tries to talk to Bess about what occurred on the island, but her grandma interrupts her. After hearing this, Avery makes fun of Birdie and Jessie.

Jessie and Birdie are outraged by Bess’ support of Avery’s father’s efforts to continue providing financing for the Historical Society. They decide to perform a ritual in front of Avery to demonstrate the supernatural’s existence after discovering the Plagonia Doll. They unintentionally let the demon out of the doll during the rite, and it takes control of Avery. Birdie asks Nancy for assistance.

After researching the demon, Bess discovers that it may live in several hosts. They intend to cast out the devil and deliver it back to the doll. Ace receives a sigil from Nancy to protect him from her. They confess their emotions for one another, but Avery disintegrates and Birdie and Jessie vanish before they can complete the exorcism. The Drew Crew locates a matching doll in an antique store that has light energy.

In an attempt to break Ace and Nancy’s curse, they undertake a ceremony, but just before it is complete, the curse returns to their bodies, and the flowers they were using turn into white moths. After falling, Nancy awakens at the medical facility. Carson begs her to give up trying to break the curse because he fears he will lose her as he did his wife. Ace realizes he can no longer risk endangering Nancy’s life and departs, preferring to remain, friends, while Nancy works on a new strategy.
