Naomi Season 1 Episode 2 Recap
Barry Watson, who plays Naomi’s adoptive father Army Lieutenant Major Greg McDuffie, says he and his wife Jennifer are merely lying by omission to keep their daughter safe. Dee informs Naomi that he has no idea who she is, but that he can sense her thanks to an invisible vibrating cord that he can feel thanks to his wings. He also claims to be from another planet and an alien, much like her. Naomi enquires about her birth parents with her parents, but they have no information. Later, Anthony asks her out on a pizza date, which she agrees, oblivious to the fact that it is a date. Naomi declines Dee’s request to leap from a bridge so he may prove to her that she is an alien. Naomi, Annabelle, and Jacob set out to find out what happened in the woods on the day she was adopted, and they ended up in the woods. Naomi’s hearing is heightened while she’s in the woods. Greg speaks with a superior officer who requests that he investigate Dee because of Dee’s apparent involvement in the Superman stunt.
Naomi tells Annabelle what Dee said to her. After Anthony informs Naomi, Annabelle, and Jacob about an urban legend about a youngster who went hunting for the 2004 UFO crash site, the kids pay him a visit and learn that they were looking in the wrong area. The kids find the mill they’re looking for, but Jacob’s car breaks down along the route, so Naomi asks Lourdes to drive them the rest of the way. While searching around, they notice strange lettering on the walls that matches the lettering on the disc Zumbado stole from Naomi. Zumbado arrives at the mill shortly after and requests to talk with Naomi alone. She is able to summon her powers for a brief moment before Zumbado knocks her out and tells her never to return. Naomi informs Anthony that she isn’t ready to go on a date with him right now, but she isn’t going to say no indefinitely. Naomi informs Dee that she now believes, and Dee promises to assist her with her abilities. Greg’s supervisor asks him to join a task team tasked with finding aliens. The inscription on the mill walls vanishes thanks to Zumbado. Naomi leaps from the bridge.
