NCIS Hawaii Episode 19 Recap
The team investigated the death of an environmental officer called Reid on the island of Hawai’i after being mauled by an apex predator. This startled Kai and Jesse because Hawai’i didn’t have any apex predators outside of the zoo, let alone one that could kill someone out in the open. An agent from the Fish and Wildlife Department named Melanie Dawes eventually joined the squad to examine Reid’s death because it was suspected that he wouldn’t know if an apex predator was loose on the island. Jane, on the other hand, was concerned about her son Alex’s injury to his Achilles tendon. But Jesse assured her that she shouldn’t be concerned because Alex was still a young adolescent who would mend quickly with proper treatment.
Jane’s ex-husband came a few minutes later, and the two talked about making an appointment with the best surgeon for Alex. Ernie, on the other hand, purchased a private session for Lucy so she could relax and return to the person she was before her separation with Kate. Returning to the case, a new agent named Siggy, who was Melanie’s partner, was added to the team. They later discovered the dead tiger that murdered Reid during their search in the wilderness. They also discovered that a ship that was discovered wrecked was smuggling exotic animals and that the lion was presumably boarded on the opposite side of the island. Kai and Melanie eventually tracked down a man known as Hawaiian Lion King, who was the owner of the ship smuggling the animals, after more inquiry. The man said that the team was to blame and that it would not have happened if they had done their jobs properly. Furthermore, the crew had not communicated with him since the shipwreck. After some technical wizardry from Ernie, he discovered that a man had also transported an Asian deer to the island. So Jesse, Kai, and Lucy went to see that man, but he was nowhere to be found.
However, they discovered the deer he had brought to Hawaii, which had been cut and emptied of its blood. It turned out that the blood contained anthrax, and the examiner later told them that the deer’s blood contained enough anthrax to produce a biotoxin and kill a large number of people. While Ernie learned that the criminal planned to attack individuals attending a tourism convention that day. The squad eventually arrived and apprehended the perpetrators, who were in possession of multiple biotoxin containers. Meanwhile, one of them had spotted the team and was going to discharge the gas, but Jane leapt on him and fought him until she was able to subdue him and capture him. Moving on, Jesse and Lucy advised Kai not to miss the chance to ask Melanie out as she was about to leave, and he heeded their advice and asked her out. Finally, we saw Alex’s surgery go well, and Jane seemed relieved that he would heal quickly and be able to play baseball again.
