NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 Episode 8 Recap
In this episode of NCIS: Hawai’i, the team has to deal with a tricky case involving a murder on the island. Sadie Latham is the victim. She is married to Marine Master Sergeant Caleb Latham. Even though the couple works hard and doesn’t have much saved, Sadie is taken away during the day, which makes people wonder why she was taken. NCIS is called in to help, and they start by asking Caleb about possible enemies. At first, Caleb is unsure, but later he says he doesn’t have any friends and doesn’t have the three million dollars the kidnappers want.
NCIS plans to use a cash drop-off with the FBI’s help to catch the kidnappers and free Sadie, but Caleb’s problems make things more tense. As the investigation goes on, NCIS learns more worrisome things about Caleb’s past, such as the fact that he and his friend Brock Overton were the only ones who lived through a classified convoy accident in Iraq. NCIS thinks that Caleb may have planned his wife’s kidnapping to either play the hero or kill her without being caught because he has a history of drinking too much and being mean to Sadie.
But things get very interesting when Caleb finds Brock’s body in a cemetery. They planned to hide the three million dollars they stole in Iraq for five years, but it turns out they lost track of them. The kidnappers knew about the money, so they killed Brock and took it. This set off a chain of events that seemed to end with Sadie’s death. Surprisingly, it turns out that Sadie planned her own kidnapping and faked her death, blaming Marlon Vega, a former bank teller who was in the convoy, for the crime.
Sadie and her partner, Lana, were going to run away with the stolen money, but their plans are thwarted and they are caught in Fiji. At the same time, Sam’s ELITE team is in trouble when malware is found on a laptop that was taken away, which makes their work impossible. Thankfully, Ernie can stop the danger and keep the team safe. At the end of the show, NCIS gets back together to find Sadie and Lana, who are now wanted for their crimes.
