In the current episode titled “The Reckoning”, Grisha was invited to a secret meeting with the notorious Drona shrink, Howard Pembrook (played by Jere Burns). However, Pembrook took extreme measures to ensure that he and Grisha were not being watched or monitored. He took Grisha to a swimming pool, where they both changed clothes before heading to a van. Inside the van, Pembrook was hunched over with a pistol. Pembrook instructed Grisha to take them to a garage for parking located a few miles away.
In a dramatic scene, Howard Pembrook revealed the shocking truth about Anthony Beltran (David DeSantos) and a group of Drona subjects who have infiltrated various law enforcement and government agencies. These individuals are now on a mission to seek revenge against Pembrook for his cruel programming of them during their childhood. Pembrook’s remorseful sentiments towards Grisha were repeatedly conveyed. As soon as their current predicament is resolved, he vowed to hand over all the documents from his Drona folder to Grisha.
Just as the team was about to finalize their plan, Anthony and a group of Drona alumni stormed in with guns blazing, interrupting their huddle. As Grisha and Howard Pembrook made their escape through a fire stairwell, a bullet grazed Pembrook’s shoulder. As Anthony and his team closed in, Grisha and Pembrook made a daring escape, climbing up multiple floors until they found refuge in a server closet with a heavy, steel door. As the villains drilled through the lock, they were met with the sight of Pembrook lying on the floor, bleeding and helpless. As Pembrook revealed the news of his split with Grisha, two menacing figures set out to track down Grisha. As the camera panned up, we caught a glimpse of Grisha perched above the door. With precision, he took out one of the Drona guys before gracefully dropping down to shoot the next. Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Devin Rountree (Caleb Castille) made it just in time to round up the others.
Just as Pembrook was about to reveal a shocking truth to Grisha regarding OPD Hetty’s actions, he was abruptly taken away by CIA officer and former Drona member, Baer. Later that day, Grisha’s phone rang. On the other end was Pembrook, requesting a meeting outside of headquarters. Pembrook dramatically flipped open the weighty dossier on Grisha, revealing a trove of information about his ancestry and beyond. On the matter of Grisha’s burning inquiry – the reason behind Hetty’s silence regarding his extraction from Drona – In this scene, Pembrook reveals that Hetty (Linda Hunt) has always carried a heavy burden of guilt for her part in his indoctrination. She recognized the chance for a gifted child to soar to new heights and fulfill their true potential.
As Grisha voiced his skepticism, Pembrook emphasized that Grisha held a special place in Hetty’s heart as the son she never had. Pembrook is aware of this due to his 35-year-long surveillance of Grisha, as well as his occasional role as a confidant for Ms. Henrietta “Hetty” Lange. Pembrook nodded towards the file in Grisha’s hands and advised, “Don’t let your life be consumed by the past.” “Let’s focus on the present, and perhaps even the future,” hinted towards G’s involvement. He declared, “I wish you all the happiness in the world.” I truly do. As Pembrook made his exit, he made sure to mention that the file contained a report on Sam Hanna that he had previously sent to Hetty.
