NCISLA Season 14 Episode 5 Recap
NCIS went on a “woman hunt.” She was Alice Morgan who was Jeff Morgan’s widow. Morgan was slain at home and his wife fled. She ran for a lot of reasons. Murdered her husband, she might have fled. She may have fled in dread. The squad had to find her and probe Morgan’s death. Morgan wasn’t merely a navy officer. He was on a DOD task team seeking to network the US military. So a rival government might have killed him. Everyone a suspect. Russia, Iran, and China were first. The crew had several suspects and broke up to better understand the situation. Sam escorted Callen to Morgan’s CO. Burns seemed unfazed by Morgan’s murder. He told the lads he was too busy to visit the boat shed. The insisted. He met with them and was still upset. Neither knew who killed Morgan. Alice was discussed. Burns stated she was unfriendly and aloof. Deeks and Roundtree visited victim’s residence. They searched for proof of who killed Morgan and found that the pair lived beyond their means. They spent the money on holidays and watches and became bankrupt.
Shyra learned that Alice rented a beautiful home an hour after her husband was killed. Alice escaped. She rented a place out of county. Even if only her. Deeks and Callen went to the rental and scooped up Alice before she ran. Alice refused to talk to them. She said no one listened when it counted. She then refused to talk. Roundtree pushed her. Deeks devised a plan to keep grilling her. Deeks noted Alice’s leaning. She also hid arm bruises. This reminded Deeks of when he and his mom were molested. Deeks saw Alice’s indications. He told her about childhood abuse. It helped her relate to him and feel secure talking to him. Alice acknowledged she was abused. She double-reported her spouse. Both times to the navy, nothing was done. Morgan’s significance to the Navy was made clear to her early on. She was mocked. She was alone. Morgan pushed her away, so she had no one to turn to when she found him dead. Alice saved him. She ran because her reports against him may make her seem guilty. Alice didn’t kill John. Her spouse was sketchy. She stated he came home late smelling like oil. The Navy shielded an abuser and missed signs he was a terrorist. Morgan utilised his Navy contacts to obtain C4 for a bomb. Morgan used his position to build a terrorist explosive.
NCIS phoned his employer to notify him about the missing items. Burns ignored Alice’s screams. He claimed he lacked enough evidence to charge or bench Morgan. Morgan surreptitiously made a bomb to sell to Ivan Parsons. Parsons worked import/export. On paper, he says he assists people with nice food and wine, yet he has links to extremist groups worldwide. Arms dealer He called Morgan. Morgan was overextended and in debt. His wife had no bank accounts. She didn’t aware that Parsons was paying to all of her husband’s bank accounts. Parsons killed Morgan when he got the explosives. The squad sought Parsons. They located him in his legal warehouse. While he did detonate a device, no one was gravely wounded. Kensi stayed home to introduce her mother-in-law to Rosa. Bertie’s return helped Deeks discuss his father. And the abuser. Callen informed Anna he had to find Hetty. He needed help. He couldn’t go on or arrange a wedding without them, so Callen will discuss. He’s on Hetty.
