NCIS Season 19 Episode 11 Recap
Bosses called NCIS Director Vance. It was about a distress call from an environmental research vessel. A black-ops crew boarded the ship and told them to contact the Navy. The Navy was summoned because a team member died and the death needed to be examined. But NCIS was kept in the dark. They had no idea why the black ops team was there, and Vance assumed his direct supervisor was unaware. He wanted more information, but he was willing to work with what he had, so he delivered it to Parker’s crew. Parker and his team are excellent. While working on this investigation, he was still working on calling them his squad because he still thought of them as Gibbs’ team. McGee stayed back to talk to their IT team. Everyone termed the techie’s Tech Trolls. Great work. They are also haughty, contemptuous, and disliked by all. McGee alone. McGee used to get along well with these men and was startled when he went to chat with them. But he had no idea.
McGee was still pondering this as his team boarded the ship. They proceeded to the ship to investigate the body and were ambushed. The black-ops squad had kidnapped everyone. They also intended to do the same to NCIS, which puzzled the staff. They had no idea. They had no complaints about the men who were shooting at them, and their helicopter pilots were also shot. Survived a pilot One did not. They also ran out of ammo shortly. The agents fled with their injured pilot and devised a strategy. McGee and Vance were back at HQ when the supervisors called again. That there was no secret mission in the region and no one who called it in. It was a ruse. People pretended to be Navy. McGee and Vance feared for the squad and Palmer. They needed saving. The team was doing their hardest and ran into members of the crew. Some survivors of the hijacking dubbed them terrorists. They overheard them wishing for a high-value target on board.
After the terrorists grabbed Torres and Knight, it was evident they wanted to evacuate the ship. They obtained what they wanted and needed the helicopter keys to go. Torres and Knight suffered. They couldn’t acquire any additional info, so Parker saw them. He moved about using the air vents. He may contact his agents. He discovered the terrorists’ desires and devised a plan. He let them find the helicopter keys. He then hid in the chopper while they gathered people. Parker was on the terrorists’ helicopter as it took off. Terrorists seized a cell phone jammer. The rest of the team called for help and liberated the remaining crew members. With both headquarters and the ship free to discuss the terrorists, they were able to identify the three terrorists that attempted to kill everyone. They were ex-private military contractors. They were dismissed for stealing. They now steal for profit, and they seem to be chasing the chopper. Nothing aboard. The military helicopter was costly. And anyone could be interested.
Parker aided them by playing the original Star Trek theme tune on the international distress line. His team identified him as a fan of the original series and tracked the signal to apprehend all terrorists. Parker responded that he would have done everything to get his troops off that ship if Vance had said so. Parker finally thought of them as his team, albeit slowly. The episode ends with a group shot of the crew, including Vance, with a reassembled paper doll for her niece’s class.
