A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a British television series based on the Holly Jackson novel of the same name now Streaming on Netflix. Poppy Cogan adapted the series, and Dolly Wells directed it. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder follows Pip as she tries to figure out what really happened when popular high school student Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies) was killed five years ago and her boyfriend Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni), who admitted to killing her, seemed to kill himself. When Pip teamed up with Sal’s brother Ravi (Zain Iqbal) to reopen the case that keeps haunting their quiet English town, she had no idea what she was getting herself into. The season has had many investigations that overlapped and many twists, turns, and shocking revelations. Still, the 17-year-old detective won’t stop until she gets answers, both for herself and for her school project.
Who killed Andie Bell?
As her investigation goes on, Pip finds out that Andie was seeing an older man behind her back before she disappeared. It turns out that the older man was Elliot Ward, her English teacher and best friend’s dad (Mathew Baynton). When Pip confronts him about this, he tells her that Andie had told everyone that he cheated on her unless he gave her £5,000 to help her run away from home. To get the money she needed to leave home, she first sold drugs, but her dad found the money and took it from her. When Elliot said no, Andie got mad, so he pushed her, which made her trip and hit her head on the counter. However, Andie had already left when Elliot tried to call for help.
Along with her younger sister Becca Bell (Carla Woodcock), Andie went back home after leaving Elliot’s and told her about her plans to leave town with Sal. Becca was mad that Andie left her to deal with their controlling father, Jason (Matthew Chambers). She was also mad that her sister wouldn’t go with her to the police to report that another student, Max Hastings (Henry Ashton), had drugged and raped her. That’s because Max used drugs that Andie sold him to hurt Becca. When the sisters got into a fight that night, Becca pushed Andie, who already had a bad head injury, into the wall. She then watched as Andie choked to death on her own vomit as she fell to the floor.
What happens at the end of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder?
At the end of the season, Pip ties up all the loose ends and looks into Becca Bell, who was arrested after Elliot was caught. She goes to the Bell house and Becca tells her what happened the night Andie died. Becca also offers to show Pip where she buried her sister’s body in the woods. But Pip doesn’t figure out that Becca drugged her and plans to kill her until it’s too late. Thankfully, Ravi and Cara use a Find My Friends app to find Pip and save her. This stops Becca’s plan. At the end of the season, Pip is at a turning point in more than one way. She isn’t sure if she wants to go to Cambridge anymore, she promises to get revenge on anyone Max has hurt, and she and Ravi share a sweet kiss. That’s the start of a new mystery, isn’t it? What happens next to them and everyone else in Little Kilton?
The first season ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers to wonder what happened next and what the secrets of Little Kilton were. In order to delve even further into these mysteries, the second season (should it be renewed) is expected to test the limits of suspense and intrigue.
Jackson had a lot to do with making the movie, so fans of the book series are hoping that the movies will be more true to the books. Because of changes made from the book to the screen adaptation, fans are arguing about how true to the book the adaptation is.
