Netflix will give the silver screen treatment to “The Night Agent,” a New York Times bestseller in political conspiracy thrillers. The streamer has given green light to the series and asked Shawn Ryan (“The Shield,” “S.W.A.T.”) to produce. “The Night Agent” Story
According to the logline, “The Night Agent”, based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, is a “sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low-level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.”
Ryan, who is also showrunner, will executive produce the drama through MiddKid Productions with Marney Hochman. Seth Gordon will executive producer and direct the first episode. Julia Gunn, Exhibit A’s executive producer, is joined by William Sherak and Paul Neinstein, Nicole Tossou, Project X’s Project X, and David Beaubaire, Sunset Lane Media’s director.
