Gordon and the HPD were investigating a case after discovering a body in the woods, which proved that the man had died many years ago. The individual turned out to be Bruce Fletcher once an ID was obtained, and he had a voice mail from Sebastian Nuzo on his phone from three days before his death. Because Nuzo was Gordon’s best buddy, Gordon summoned Thomas to inquire whether he knew anything about it. This occurred six months before to Nuzo’s death. Thomas, on the other hand, stated that he had no knowledge of Bruce or anything related to him. Despite the fact that he blatantly lied, he decided to conduct his own investigation into the situation. Rick, TC, Higgins, and Kumu all offered assistance, but they advised Thomas to tell Gordon about it because he was trustworthy and should be aware of the situation. Thomas revealed that he once hunted down Bruce after Nuzo requested it because Bruce had vanished with his money. However, Nuzo texted Thomas later to say that he had taken care of the situation. Higgins decided to look for any kind of link between Bruce and Nuzo, while Thomas walked out to check on Nuzo’s wife and child.
Meanwhile, Higgins discovered that Nuzo and Bruce had made a contract to uncover a shipwreck that would provide a large sum of money that they would split, but Bruce vanished on Nuzo. Thomas, on the other hand, arrived at Nuzo’s house to meet his wife Lara, only to discover that the police had already raided their home. Gordon also slammed Thomas for keeping all of the information from him. Eventually, Thomas said that he was merely trying to safeguard his friend’s name since it would put Nuzo’s family in jeopardy. Higgins and Thomas proceeded to Bruce’s buddy Oscar’s house the next day, where Bruce had been staying before his death. They discovered the diving equipment he had taken from Nuzo as well as a map with prospective shipwreck locations. Thomas eventually travelled to that area in the sea and discovered a container full of dead. Later, Gordon oversaw the removal of the container from the water, and they discovered that it contained the bodies of even youngsters, implying that they were being illegally immigrated. Despite the fact that Nuzo’s identity was evident, Thomas opted to pursue the investigation, and he and Higgins tracked down a group with which Bruce had become associated prior to his death. They assumed that while searching for treasure, Bruce came upon the container containing the victims and discovered a gang’s illegal immigrant operation. He tried to extort money from them in exchange for keeping the information hidden, but he was slain. They eventually apprehended the gang members, and Gordon was able to have them arrested. We afterwards saw Thomas’ subconscious as Nuzo, advising him to tell Higgins about his feelings.
