Shocking news for the music industry, two legendary singer Mac Davis and Helen Reddy dies on the same day.

A legendary singer-songwriter Mac Davis who had a No. 1 hit with penned Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation” many more and starred in the football film North Dallas Forty, has died at the age of 78 in Nashville.

His manager Jim Morey stated in a news release. His family had reported Monday that he was “critically ill” following the heart surgery.

Singer Helen Reddy became a global feminist anthem, died in Los Angeles aged 78 on Tuesday, her family said.

“Our hearts are broken. But we take comfort in the knowledge that her voice will live on forever,” the family wrote on her official Facebook account.

But her song “I Am Woman” went to No. 1 in 1972 and launched her global stardom. She hosted her own TV variety show “The Helen Reddy Show” and starred in Hollywood films. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2015.

Davis had his own hits with ‘Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me’ and ‘It’s Hard To Be Humble’.
