ONE PIECE has been picked up for a second season after a successful first season. Filming has already started. We now know a lot more about the next season, including what fans can expect from the Straw Hat Pirates’ latest adventures and who will be joining the group.
Anime and manga fans have been crazy about One Piece for over twenty years. It is one of the most popular and long-lasting media titles. With more than 516 million manga copies in circulation around the world and an anime version that is regularly one of the most-watched shows, One Piece’s move into live-action was a big step forward. The success of the live-action version was important for both old and new fans.
The wonderful and exciting world of ONE PIECE was shown to more people in Season 1 thanks to the work of showrunners Steven Maeda and Matt Owens. Fans are excited to see how the story continues now that the show has been picked up for a second season.
PRODUCTION AND RELEASE DETAILS
The second season began filming on June 24, 2024, and will likely last for at least seven months. The show is set to come out on Netflix sometime in 2025, most likely in late 2025 based on when it was filmed.
Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes video of the cast traveling to Cape Town for the shoot to mark the beginning of shooting. In the video, Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy) asks Siri in a funny way how to get to South Africa, while Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Taz Skylar (Sanji), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Emily Rudd (Nami) get ready for their trip.
Godoy shouts, “To the Grand Line!” as the Straw Hats get back together, letting everyone know that exciting events are on the way.
