In only Murders in the Building‘s first seven episodes of Season 2, we’ve been hit with a lot of unexpected twists and turns, including a lost pornographic painting, a bloody matchbook, and even Amy Schumer playing herself. However, the most important issue that has come up during this season is undoubted, “Who is Glitter Guy?”
Bunny, played by Jayne Houdyshell, passed away, and the trio all got a cryptic text asking them to leave the building. They are under the impression that it was Detective Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) who warned them that the police were on their way. While investigating Bunny’s murder, the group found a bloodied matchbook in Mabel’s underground passageway. Matchbook fingerprint was the most promising lead in the murder inquiry. However, things became more difficult when it was discovered that Detective Williams wasn’t the texter because she was on maternity leave. So The mysterious texter was the murderer!
Who is Glitter Guy?
The texter planned to fall the matchbook evidence, and we got the name “Glitter Guy.” The first thing you notice is that he is coated in glitter, or at least he was at one point. Second, he attacked Mabel, who stabbed him in the arm with a knitting needle. Third, he’s a security guard at Coney Island and suggests that he is having financial difficulties; therefore, Kreps may be employed by another organization in addition to the NYPD.
Is Detective Kreps the Glitter Guy?
And now, at long last, at the conclusion of Season 2 episode 8, we realize his identity: Glitter Guy is Detective Kreps (Michael Rapaport). Not only does he say that questioning young girls is his “favorite part of the job,” but by the time the show is out, Mabel figures out that Kreps is actually Glitter Guy. Yes! one of the detectives working alongside Detective Williams on the Bunny case. After a blackout, Mabel notices Kreps at the Arconia. He arrived strangely swiftly and has a sore arm where Mabel stabbed Glitter Guy. Mabel sees glitter behind Detective’s ear. Glitter is hard to remove. Now, the question that needs to be answered is whether Kreps has a personal stake in the matter or whether he is simply a stupid, crooked cop looking for more money.
Did Kreps kill Bunny in Only Murders in the Building?
If we now know who Glitter Guy is, does that indicate we also know the identity of the person who committed the murder? Certainly not in every case. Kreps has been an aggressive force throughout this season, but it’s unclear why he would wish to put Bunny’s life in jeopardy. What possible motive could he have for trying to frame Charles, Oliver, and Mabel? Why, on the night that Bunny passed away, did he text them to tell them to leave the Arconia? On top of everything else, Kreps is new this season. So who killed Bunny? Bunny’s killer is presumably someone we encountered in Season 1 who knew him.
It is possible that Kreps was involved in the killing after all; after all, he is the Glitter Guy. However, it is possible that his role was more that of an accessory to the actual murderer. Is the same one texting Charles, Oliver, and Mabel? On the other hand, it is not yet clear how Kreps is connected to the perpetrator of the crime. We have multiple suspects in Bunny’s death. Howard, Nina, Cinda Canning, or Alice. The final two episodes of OMITB will expose everything, but until then, we can take comfort in the fact that Glitter Guy is actually Detective Kreps. It’s not likely that the murderer is too far behind.
