As things got more dangerous for Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short)—they went up against the Westies and found secrets that would change everything. Who killed Dudenoff in the end? What did Sazz have to do with any of this? Let’s look at the most important parts of this important show.

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Episode 8 Recap

At the start of the episode, the Only Murders gang gets together to go after the Westies, the strange group of friends who had been cashing Dudenoff’s checks. In the last episode, it was shown that the Westies might be up to no good, which made Mabel, Charles, and Oliver come up with a plan. They decided to have the Westies over for a card game so that they could find out what really happened with Dudenoff.

At first, the Westies seem nice when they get to Oliver’s apartment, but things quickly get worse when Vince locks the door— Rudy pulls out a knife, and Ana takes everyone’s phones. This sudden turn of events raises the stakes and shows that the Westies are not going to quickly confess.

People from the West tell stories about Dudenoff and always say that he is alive and well in Portugal. But Mabel pulls Dudenoff’s fake shoulder out of the oven, which forces the Westies to face the truth regarding the situation. This shocking discovery makes — Helga join the conversation. She tells Dudenoff about her experiences and sheds light on the group’s hidden behavior.

Helga talks about getting a goodbye letter from Dudenoff on the night the building had a power surge. Because of what she remembers, Mabel becomes suspicious of the Westies and decides to talk to them directly. As things get more tense, the group tells them the truth about Dudenoff’s death: they got letters from him asking them to a meeting in the basement, where he told them he was dying. Dudenoff came up with a plan to fake his death, so that the Westies wouldn’t have to give up their homes after he died.

In a shocking turn of events—the Westies say that Dudenoff asked them to help him die quietly. After taking enough pills to kill him, he told them to burn his body so that there would be no proof that he had died. In order to keep his memory alive and protect Helga from more pain, they cashed his checks and told lies about his life in Portugal.

Now that everyone knows the truth about Dudenoff’s death— the Westies have nothing to fear. Their actions were motivated by love and loyalty instead of anger, which shows how difficult their relationship is. Another surprising turn comes when Helga says that Sazz had talked to her on ham radio before she died, talking about her worries about a dangerous stuntman named Gleb Stubbins. This could be a new clue in the investigation into Sazz’s murder.

At the end of the show, the Only Murders trio realizes they are back to square one when it comes to Sazz’s murder. The story moves forward when it is revealed that Gleb Stubbins might be a suspect. This sets up a tense ending as they try to figure out what really happened to Sazz.

Episode 8 of Only Murders in the Building not only solved the puzzle of Dudenoff’s death, but it also opened up new ways to look into things, especially with Sazz. As the season comes to a close, the stakes have never been higher. Fans are on the edge of their seats, eager to see how these linked stories will play out.
