‘ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING’ SEASON 4 EPISODE 9 RECAP

The eighth episode of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING had a lot of weird turns. When Mabel, Charles, and Oliver found out that the Westies had been cashing Dudenoff’s checks and putting together the clues about how Dudenoff faked his own death, they were shocked. They still didn’t know who killed Sazz’s until Helga told them that Sazz had been worried about her protégé— a stuntman named Glenn Stubbins, who had become dangerous. The three members of Only Murders were now on a mission to look into Glenn and figure out how Sazz died. But their investigation wasn’t over yet.

When the three people in Episode 9 (Escape From Planet Klongo) finally get close to Glenn, they run into a big problem: Glenn is unconscious. The team has to get creative with their investigation because there is no clear way to talk to the suspect. But just when it looks like they’ve reached a brick wall, a shocking clue comes from somewhere they didn’t expect, sending them further down the twisty path to solving Sazz’s murder. Will they finally figure out what’s going on— or — will the killer strike again before they can make sense of everything?

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

At the start of the episode, Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) go to the hospital to question Glenn Stubbins, who they think is the main suspect. Glenn is in a coma, which makes things more difficult, but they try to wake him up with beer and corned beef. An Irish nurse stops their crazy plan. The team’s hopes seemed to be dashed until the bartender from Concussions showed up and explained Glenn’s part in the mystery.

The bartender says that Glenn wasn’t Sazz’s shady apprentice, but was brought in as a replacement for the stuntman who messed up so badly that Sazz didn’t want to work with him again. This shamed stuntman’s career was ruined, and Glenn was hired to take his place. They were both shot. To find out more about this lead, the Only Murders gang goes to the one person who might know more: Ron Howard, who directed the movie where the stuntmen worked.

Bev Melon helps Mabel find Ron Howard by making a deal for her to tell Mabel where Ron is in exchange for help with a script that is falling apart. This group of three people goes to Howard’s movie set for “Escape From Planet Klongo.” In the background, they sneak in, but when Charles and Oliver fight, things get off track. Because Oliver is getting married to Loretta soon, Charles starts to doubt their friendship, which leads to a fight that gets them kicked off the set.

At the same time, Mabel gets a call saying that Glenn has woken up. She quickly gets to the hospital but finds that someone has beaten her and suffocated Glenn with a pillow before she could question him. The episode’s tension rises when Mabel finds out that Glenn’s emergency contact was Sazz. However, Sazz is now dead and her phone is in the hands of the killer, which makes the mystery even more complex.

There is a surprise when the director shows up at the Chinese restaurant where Oliver said he had met Ron Howard. He knows who Oliver is. Howard joins them for lunch and gives them important information about the stuntman, whose name is now known to be Rex Bailey. The name doesn’t stick out at first, but when Howard shows a picture, the three of them realize that Rex is actually Marshall, the film’s screenwriter, who is now dressed up.

As the episode comes to a close, Mabel is left alone with Marshall, who is really guilty. The only murders group has to figure out the last few clues quickly before the killer strikes again.
