P-Valley Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
To Clifford, The Pynk is irreplaceable. However, Hailey is adamant about selling despite this. She and her daughter were meant to be able to start again with the money required to keep the property running. She is willing to throw away $5 million in the hopes of negotiating for $10. The Pynk, as well as Clifford and her predecessors, must be compensated fairly. Lil Murda is not well. Even though he is still experiencing emotional flashbacks to Big Teak’s suicide, he is at least able to occupy himself by caring for Ernestine, who has Covid-19.

Ernestine flees the home and tries to jump into the Mississippi while Lil and uncle Clifford are conversing. She begs Clifford and Murda to bring the water to her because she is adamant that the end is near and that she must get to the water. Lil rubs river water over her, and while it (obviously) doesn’t heal her. In the midst of Lil correcting the paramedics for misgendering Clifford, Ernestine is whisked away in an ambulance. Her destiny is not revealed in this episode.
Terricka is sent there by Mercedes for a “consultation” on her unborn child. They learn that she is 14 weeks pregnant, which puts her just outside the window for a legal abortion. Protesters holding signs that read “Abortion is Murder” are standing outside the clinic as they arrive, but the choice isn’t that straightforward. Mercedes has experienced what Terricka is going through, and in flashbacks, we get a glimpse of that past. The entire road trip is about Terricka and Mercedes bonding and Terricka trying to determine what she actually wants from her near future. Of course, Terricka isn’t likely to listen to Mercedes given their own tense relationship. Importantly, Mercedes lets Terricka make that choice on her own. With the car keys in her possession, she has the option of returning to Chucalissa or going to Jackson for an abortion, and she decides to go with the latter. Hailey runs into Keyshawn, first at the store and then later at her home, where she delivers a present for Keyshawn’s child, Regal, that is actually a cell phone. If Keyshawn waits too long to take action, it won’t be possible. But Hailey makes it obvious that she can count on her to support her when she’s ready to make changes in her life.
