Showtime’s popular horror series “Penny Dreadful, City of Angels” has been canceled X after the first season episode 10 titled — “Day of the Dead” which aired on June 28.
Showtime launched Penny Dreadful on April 28, 2014. After the third-season finale on June 19, 2016, ended as the main story had reached its conclusion. Penny the series dreadfuls follow, a type of 19th-century British fiction publication with the lurid and sensational subject matter.
A spin-off series, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, premiered on April 26, 2020, set in 1938 Los Angeles and ended. it starred Nathan Lane, Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Kerry Bishe, Rory Kinnear, Adriana Barraza, Michael Gladis, Jessica Garza, Johnathan Nieves.
“Showtime has decided not to move forward with another season of ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels,’” Showtime said in a variety statement. “We would like to thank executive producers John Logan, Michael Aguilar, and the entire cast and crew for their outstanding work on this project.”
John Logan, the creator, writer, and executive producer of the original show served on the same positions on the City of Angels.
Michael Aguilar also executive produced the new series along with Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris.
