What Happened in the “Power Book II: Ghost” Season 3 Finale?

Season three of “Power Book II: Ghost” lived up to its promise of being jam-packed with secrets, lies, and tons of mayhem.  Several significant events occur in the “Power Book II: Ghost” season three finale, sparking an all-out conflict among the main protagonists. The critical moments are broken down as follows:

Tommy’s Return: Tommy (Joseph Sikora) makes an unanticipated comeback and locates Tasha (Tariq’s mother), who is in witness protection. Tariq arrives barely in time to interrupt the altercation as he pulls a gun on her. Tommy and Tasha  (Naturi Naughton) resolve to end their argument and part ways as a family.

In the Power Book II finale, After enduring countless difficulties and betrayals, Tariq’s friend Brayden makes the decision to permanently leave the drug trade. He admits to Tariq that this lifestyle is not for him and that he wants to move on.

Tariq’s Problems: Tariq encounters numerous obstacles in the climax. After being unconscious while attempting to save his mother, he awakens at the hospital. He approaches Tommy, who admits that Tariq was rendered unconscious by Tasha in order to stop him from shooting Tommy. Tommy and Tariq resolve their issues and part ways amicably.

Effie’s Arrest: Effie, who attempted to assassinate Lauren, is taken into custody for the crime. She is currently incarcerated and awaiting an indictment as part of a federal scheme to get her to turn on Tariq. Effie survives Monet’s attempt to have her killed in custody and later confronts Lauren to explain the situation. In the end, Lauren retracts her claim and aids Effie in avoiding prosecution.

The Tejadas: Monet Tejada, the family’s matriarch, teams up with Noma to serve as both a partner and a distributor. Diana and Dru, Monet’s daughters, however, intend to get rid of her. By provoking Tariq with a threat, they subtly include him in their plan. Tariq follows Diana after she leaves a letter at Tommy’s mother’s house that appears to have been written by Monet.

Tariq’s Strategy: Tariq enlists Diana’s assistance in his plan to murder Monet for posing a threat to his family. However, before Tariq can fire, someone else shoots Monet, making their strategy more difficult. Tasha, Tariq’s mother, says she fired the gun to defend her son.
