Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 8 Release Date

Fans of Power Book III: Raising Kanan are in for a bit of a wait. After the intense drama of season 4, episode 7, the show is taking a short break. Episode 8, titled “Truth of the Matter,” won’t air next week, marking the first pause in the season. Starz shows often take breaks in the middle of the season, which can catch viewers off guard. Don’t worry, though—the last three episodes are on the way, and they look like they will be very exciting.

So, when can you catch the next chapter? In the US, episode 8 drops on Friday, May 2, 2025, on Starz. For UK fans, it’ll arrive two days later on Sunday, May 4, 2025, on MGM+. The weekly release schedule remains in place, keeping the anticipation high as the season builds toward its finale.

The current season has been an exciting roller coaster ride. There are a lot of shocking turns in Raising Kanan—like the death of a major character and the bold rise of Unique 2.0. As alliances change—Kanan slowly turns into the character fans remember from the first Power series. He gets closer to that famous role with each episode, but he still has a long way to go.

Looking ahead, there’s good news for fans. Starz renewed Raising Kanan for a fifth season back on March 27, 2024, ensuring more of Kanan’s story is on the way. Plus, a new prequel, Power: Origins, is in development. While details are scarce, it’s something to keep an eye on in the coming months. For now, the focus remains on season 4’s final episodes, which are set to raise the stakes even higher.

After a short break in the middle of the season, you can take a breather before the chaos starts up again. If you can’t wait to see what comes next—watch the promo for episode 8 on Starz’s platforms. It will keep you interested. With only three episodes left, the show is about to get even more shocking as Kanan’s world gets more dangerous.

What Happened in Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4 Episode 7?

In Season 4, Episode 7 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, titled “ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF,” the long-awaited return of Unique (Joey Bada$$) ignites a storm that rattles the Thomas family and reshapes the landscape of South Jamaica. Picking up after last week’s shocking reveal, Raq (Patina Miller) faces off against her presumed-dead former rival. Unique wastes no time in confronting her, claiming she stole his empire and orchestrated hits on his brother and Detective Howard (Omar Epps). Raq pushes back, asserting he’s blinded by revenge, but Unique won’t be swayed. As he issues his warning, his enforcer Akbar (Dap) begins seizing control of Raq’s businesses, leaving her alive—for now.

Meanwhile, Lou-Lou (Malcolm Mays) attempts to smooth things over with Imani (Paulina Singer) after his betrayal with Jessica (Natalee Linez). He’s ready to fight Unique again now that he’s back at Raq’s house, especially to protect Kanan (Mekai Curtis) and Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore). Raq tells her family that Unique has come back, but Kanan wants to fight back, while Raq suggests being patient and strategic.

Unique finds a moment of emotional clarity with Pernessa (Yolonda Ross), though it quickly spirals into delusion as he rants about Raq’s betrayal. While he relocates her to a safe house, he warns of the impending chaos he’s about to unleash on South Jamaica.

As tensions rise, Kanan discovers his stash spot has been robbed. He suspects O-Cee, and though he can’t track him down, the loss throws his budding empire into disarray. During a quiet chat at a diner, Marvin hands Jukebox a gun, knowing the family might be walking into a full-blown war. Meanwhile, Raq and Marvin (London Brown) meet with Snaps and Pop, warning them that Unique’s targeting anyone affiliated with her, including Kanan’s allies.

Elsewhere, Raq consults with Stefano (Tony Danza), the New York mafia boss. Stefano believes Unique’s actions are part of a proxy war, suggesting a greater power is backing him. Raq’s hands are tied—Unique needs her alive for now, but her influence is slipping fast.

B-Rilla (Jordan Mahome)’s descent continues as he orchestrates a botched robbery with Kenyatta (Aaron Dalla Villa) and a new crew. Although B-Rilla stays behind, the job goes south—gunfire erupts, and he fears they’ve killed Lowell. Later, at Lou-Lou’s studio, he’s relieved to find out Lowell wasn’t the victim, just tenants renting the property.

The episode hits a deeply emotional note when Marvin and Lou-Lou visit their mother Joyce. They debate her request for assisted death, which neither has the strength to fulfill. In the end, it’s Raq who steps up. After a tender conversation, Raq tearfully gives her mother a fatal dose, granting her the peace she craved.

Kanan, meanwhile, spots Raq handing money to patrol cops. Already shaken by Famous’ death, he leaps to a damning conclusion—that his mother may have orchestrated the murder. He confides in Krystal (Paulina Noble), expressing a growing distrust.

As Raq mourns her mother, her children and allies drift further from her, and Unique closes in. The game has changed, and so have the stakes.
