Tommy tries to persuade Claudia that he wants to make dahlia more popular by creating a more affordable version for everyone, but she refuses. D-Mack and Marshall approach Jenard and Diamond with a proposal to sell with Marshall’s family in Gary, Indiana. Jenard is curious, and he tells D-Mack that if he tells him where Tommy is, he will help with the Gary link. Walter is diagnosed with lung cancer. He also warns Paulie that the Serbs are likely to retaliate. Gloria writes Vic a note informing him that she would be gone for a time. Tommy, Liliana, and Claudia meet with Lauren, the chemist, who is forced to manufacture a less expensive form of dahlia against her objections. Later, Lauren is concerned about tampering with dahlia’s DNA, which she believes could be dangerous. Tommy reiterates that he does not want to incorporate JP in his business because he does not want anything to happen to him when JP and Tommy meet together. D-Mack approaches Tommy and warns him to guard his back as Walter tightens up security around Claudia. Claudia has one of the girls find Vic and give him the drug, as the girls continue to lay out the flowers throughout the clubs. Jenard tries dahlia for the first time in a different club. Marshall confronts D-Mack about not asking him to the club, and the two argue before Marshall says he’s finished with him. Liliana goes on a date with Lauren and then returns to the lab to work on dahlia cutting. Tommy assassinates the guards stationed outside the lab, guarding Claudia. He confronts Claudia about the guards and her behaviour with Vic, telling her that they won’t be able to work together if he has to second-guess her. He won’t have to, she says. Adrienne and Diamond rekindle their romance, and it’s subsequently revealed that she’s a writer covering a storey about him. Diamond accepts the dahlia from Jenard and inquires about it with Tommy. Tommy behaves as if he has no idea what the substance is, while Diamond exhibits an interest. Jenard meets with the Indiana crew and hands them bricks to move. Lauren is able to cut the substance, and she, Tommy, Claudia, and Liliana all taste it and are pleased to get the same high as before.
