The action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima, which has earned multiple award nominations and wins in a year, is back for another new version. Keeping the love of the fans in mind, Sucker Punch Productions recently announced, on August 20, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is going to release on both PS5 and PS4 consoles. This new version is packed with not only the original game but every piece of additional content ever sold and will bring a whole new adventure to Jin Sakai with new features.
A new chapter will begin in Jin’s journey. In this new story, Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence. But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some of the painful moments from his past.
Beyond that, Iki’s story will have a lot to share. Sucker Punch Productions went on to say that, beyond a whole new story and new characters, this new island also includes new content that includes new environments to explore, new armor for Jin as well as his horse, New mini-games, new technology, new enemy types, and more. There are new animals for pets too! What are the special features of PS5?
Overcoming a previous shortcoming, thanks to the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real-time, cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and Iki Island on PS5 will now offer lip sync for Japanese voice-overs. Director’s Cut players on both PS4 and PS5 will be able to experience Iki Island content, with PlayStation 5 players having access to some additional new features.
In addition, fans are going to get more features such as Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and the new Iki Island expansion all set to take advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the director’s cut. There will also be an increase in 3D audio* on the PS5, along with vastly improved load times, 4K resolution options** and framerates targeting 60 FPS.
How can you transfer your progress?
If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you’ll be able to transfer your saves to PS5 where you left off. For new players, new Iki Island content will be available in Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima, after making their way to the Toyotoma area.
Anyone who already owns Ghost of Tsushima will allow some of the recently updated patches to be downloaded. All updates to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends** will be available for free to owners of any version of Ghost of Tsushima on any platform.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will launch on August 20th on PS5 for $69.99 USD and PS4 for $59.99 USD.
