Clay is on parental leave, but he wants to join the team on a dangerous assignment in the name of keeping them safe. He no longer trusts Jason and is concerned that they may be hurt while on the expedition. Stella assures him that she won’t forgive herself if she prevents him from doing the right thing, and he accepts the task. Hannah ends her relationship with Sonny by informing him they’re just pretending, and she returns to Texas.
Sonny had a breakdown, yet he continues on with the task. Ray discovers that he’s not on the hook and that no one from the Bravo squad has put him there. He’s relieved, yet he’s annoyed that the directive left him perplexed. Ray informs his wife that his pension is secure, and the two continue with their preparations. On the expedition, Jason makes a hasty decision that wipes out their lead, and Clay snaps, claiming he made a mistake. Jason chases him down and shouts at him for doubting his authority, while Clay remarks that Jason’s head is messed up. Jason smacks him across the face and tells him not to try to take his job.
