In the previous episode, the kids finally deliver a rendition of East High’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’, in which Ricky (Joshua Bassett) and Ashlyn play their part despite the injury that left them momentarily incapacitated. Nini announces a party to celebrate the success of the musical. On the other hand, EJ and Gina are ready for date night. Big Red is horrified by Miss Jane’s last-minute changes. Ricky meets Lilly before the music starts. She wants to go on an intimate date with him. EJ and Gina are about to talk about their feelings when her brother, Jamie (Jordan Fisher) arrives unannounced.
Gina is thrilled to be reunited with her brother. Jamie later meets EJ, and thanks to him for being “a role model for Gina” in his absence. EJ is hurt and confused by his words, and is now unsure where he stands with Gina. We see Lily holding Ricky’s harness.
