Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the first season of Only Murders in the Building premiered on Hulu in August 2021. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez play three strangers who enjoy a true crime podcast. In the first season, three Upper West Side neighbors establish a podcast after a strange death. In season 2, which premiered in June 2022, the trio becomes suspects in the brutal death of Bunny Folger another building resident. This time, there was even more at risk because Mabel, played by Gomez, was the target of the police inquiry. The season 2 conclusion of Only Murders in the Building has passed, and with it, the show’s main mystery has been resolved. (tvacute.com) Here is everything you need to know about Who was Bunny Folger’s murderer?
Who Killed the Bunny?
The second season of “Only Murders in the Building” finale reveals who was responsible for Bunny’s death and introduces a new murder mystery. Even though Bunny’s murderer has been identified, Only Murders in the Building Season 2 still has one more shocking twist up its sleeve for viewers. Following a time skip of one year, we are presented with the murder that will serve as the catalyst for the third season of the show.
We discover that Bunny’s murderer was none other than Poppy White after the conclusion’s numerous false leads, a killer revealing party, and Charles (Steve Martin) faking his own death. Bunny’s killer was Poppy White (Adina Verson). It has come to light that Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), whose overworked and underappreciated secretary may have a propensity for murder. tvacute.com
Additionally, she is not who she claims to be. Poppy is actually Becky Butler, who is the focus of Cinda’s popular true crime podcast, which is titled All Is Not OK in Oklahoma, as was disclosed in the penultimate episode 9. Becky, who was a big fan of Cinda’s earlier works, pretended to commit suicide in order to flee her miserable home life and the sexual harassment that she was subjected to at the hands of her boss, the mayor of Chickasha, Oklahoma. She changed her name to Poppy White and offered Cinda the concept for All Is Not OK in Oklahoma in exchange for a job. Of course, she expected to be paid for her work.
Why did Poppy kill Bunny in OMITB?
Cinda Canning is the key to everything. Poppy’s idea that they discuss the disappearance of Rose Cooper (Shirley MacLaine) is not at all appealing to her because she is in dire need of another high-profile, graphic murder to discuss on her podcast. Because of this, Poppy decides to take matters into her own hands and stage the ideal murder for them to cover up. She kills Bunny, texts the Only Murders trio to tell them to get out of the building, uses the Arconia’s secret tunnels to escape, and then puts the bloody knife in Charles’ room in order to blame him for the murder. Additionally, she plots with her boyfriend, Officer Kreps (Michael Rapaport, who also plays the role of Glitter Guy), with whom she shares a romantic relationship.
In Only Murders in the Building Season 2 finale, some additional loose ends are resolved. Poppy visited Bunny at the Pickle Café to talk about the Rose Cooper picture, which explains why there is a video of Bunny leaving the diner furiously. The restaurant also refers to Bunny’s closing remarks. Selena Gomez’s character, Mabel, misheard Bunny say “14, Savage.” Bunny pointed to item number 14 on Poppy’s Pickle Diner’s menu, liverwurst and marmalade sandwich, and remarked, “14, sandwich.”

The identification of Poppy as the murderer is strengthened by two further pieces of evidence. First, her sensitivity to avian species, such as Bunny’s parrot Mrs. Gambolini, caused her to sneeze in the tunnels of Arconia, where Lucy (Zoe Colletti) was present and heard her. At long last, Detective Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) was able to identify the murder weapon as having included Becky Butler’s DNA. From that point forward, the trio divulges everything to Cinda, including Poppy’s real identity, and throws a murderer’s reveal party in an effort to coerce her into admitting her guilt. Poppy and Kreps are taken into custody once it was determined that all of the missing pieces of the puzzle had been located, and the crew from Only Murders was exonerated of any wrongdoing. Only Murders in the Building Season 2 has another big twist in store. After a year has passed, the murder that would kick off the third season of the show is witnessed.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Who Killed the Ben Glenroy?
The newest victim is not a member of the Arconia in any way. Instead, it is the actor Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd, who is one of the leads in the new Broadway musical that Oliver is directing. Charles himself is the other person in the starring role. Despite this, it is very evident that the two of them do not have a productive working relationship. On the first night of the show, Ben and Oliver are talking, and Ben brings up the fact that he wants to kill Charles because of something he did. Ben is confronted by Charles not long after that, and Charles tells him, “I know what you did.” What did Ben do to provoke such a strong reaction from Charles? Where did their disagreement begin? Who exactly is the “she” that Charles is talking about? I’m putting my money on either Mabel, Lucy, or make-up artist Joy (Andrea Martin), who Charles begins dating in the series finale. It’s also possible that we haven’t come face-to-face with this mysterious woman just yet.
Ben suddenly passes away on stage, preventing us from gaining any insight into the answers to these questions. On the basis of what we have seen up until this point, Charles is the most likely culprit, but if there is one thing that only Murders in the Building enjoy, it’s a good twist. Is it possible that there was another person working behind the scenes who had it in for Ben? Is this another attempt to put Charles in a false light and frame him for murder? And will there be other Paul Rudd appearances in the flashbacks? To put it another way, we won’t know the solution until the third season of the show starts broadcasting.
