Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 2 Recap
Wilford is testing new equipment with the help of Mrs. Headwood and Kevin at the start of the episode. The test is completed successfully. Pike and the other Tailies are informed about the equipment by Ruth, who is hiding on the train. The latest survivor wakes up on the pirate train and introduces herself as Asha. Layton sets the record straight with Josie about their kiss and assures her that it means nothing. He also shows Asha around the train and explains how humanity managed to survive the ice age thanks to Snowpiercer.
Ben runs the tests and discovers that civilization cannot be resurrected in locations where they have been for at least a century. He informs the crew that the Southern Arabian Peninsula in Africa is their only option. Layton rummages through the literature to figure out what his repeated visions signify, and discovers that the tree in his dreams is a Dragon’s Blood tree, which can only be found in an Arabian warm location. The pirate train decides to reconnect with Snowpiercer as well, as their resources run out.
Oz proposes to Lilah Jr. in Snowpiercer, and she accepts. They both tell Wilford about their decision, and Wilford immediately prepares a wedding to commemorate the event. He takes advantage of the opportunity to thank them for their commitment and position himself as the train’s captain. Ruth is able to contact Javi with the help of Zarah, who discloses to Ruth that the equipment is a weapon to kill Layton. Ruth and Pike seek Lights’ assistance in disarming the apparatus, which he recognizes as an electromagnetic pulse machine. While Wilford and his men attend LJ and Oz’s wedding, she tries her hardest to disable the equipment. Wilford’s blessings are given to LJ and Oz as they marry. While the wedding is still going on, Kevin searches the train and comes across Javi. To assuage suspicions, he gathers troops and inspects the equipment. Ruth sacrifices herself and surrenders to Kevin in order to stop them and give Lights time to deactivate the equipment.
Asha worked as a nuclear technician in the same North Korean nuclear plant where Layton meets her. She was one of the plant’s 34 crew members who survived the planet’s freezing because of the plant’s nuclear residual power. Her coworkers died throughout the years as a result of poor working conditions and severe radiation sickness. Her nephew, who was in the reactor with her, died of thyroid cancer four years before Layton arrived by accident. Asha had been terribly dehydrated and famished by the time Layton saves her from the reactor. She had no idea that humanity had survived and thought of herself as the planet’s lone survivor. Only when she meets Layton in the underground reactor does her perspective shift. Even when she became the last surviving human at the nuclear facility, Asha showed incredible courage in surviving the eight-year freeze.
Wilford’s electromagnetic weapon is not disarmed by Tailies. Wilford’s ego is severely bruised when Layton takes over as Snowpiercer’s new leader. Even when Layton departs Snowpiercer aboard a pirate train, Wilford does everything he can to ensure that the newly emerging leader of humanity’s remains meets his demise. Wilford designs an electromagnetic pulse device as a means of destroying Layton and regaining control of Snowpiercer. Ruth and Pike realize Wilford’s plans and seek Lights’ assistance in disarming the weapon. Her attempts, however, result in the weapon being activated.
Pike recognizes the threat in front of them and orders the weapon to be thrown out of the moving train. Because Lights are unable to disable the weapon, Pike and the other tailies have no choice but to chuck it out to avoid a disaster. Pike and others, with the help of Strong Boy, ensure that the triggered weapon is flung out of Snowpiercer. Despite the fact that the weapon emits electromagnetic energy, a disaster is averted, and Wilford’s ambitions to eliminate Layton and his supporters are thwarted.
No, the pirate train has not yet been reconnected with Snowpiercer. However, Layton, Ben, and other pirate train crew members locate Snowpiercer and drive the pirate train parallel to Snowpiercer, eventually reconnecting with him. Ben and Layton decide to reconnect with Snowpiercer ahead of their Arabian adventure as the pirate train’s resources run out. When they lose satellite links, Layton decides to drive the train parallel to the mainline in the hopes of encountering Snowpiercer along the route.
The pirate train, on the other hand, locates the signal when Wilford’s electromagnetic weapon emits electromagnetic radiation. Through the position of the electromagnetic emission, Ben, Layton, and others locate Snowpiercer and drive the train parallel to Snowpiercer. The advent of the pirate train also halts Ruth’s treasonous sentence of having her limb amputated by exposure to the cold. We may expect the pirate train to link with Snowpiercer in the following episode, and Layton to reclaim his control.
