Station 19 Season 7 Episode 5 Recap

Station 19 is still in shock from what happened in the last episode when the show starts. Things are getting tense between Ben and Montgomery. Maya shows off pictures of her new son Liam with pride, but no one seems to care about her happiness. Andy is Liam’s godmother, but she is having a hard time dealing with things after a traumatic call where they lost important tools and heard the screams of a man’s son who had died.

The team also learns that the new Mayor is ending the show Crisis One, which was made by the late Dean Miller, in order to save money. Vic doesn’t feel anything, so this news makes him feel different from Theo’s retirement. She has a better understanding of Theo’s choice because she knows him better.

As Andy gets ready for her event to become a captain, the lights go out. At first, it was thought that this was because of budget cuts, but later it was found that there was a fire at the Space Needle. Andy is now leader and leads the team into battle. Ben and Sullivan get stuck in the electric room. The fire is out of control and they are running low on air. It’s not clear what will happen to them.

Travis Montgomery, Maya, and the rest of the team get people out of an elevator who are stuck. This includes a man who is having a panic attack and a woman with epilepsy whose husband is having a hard time. Vic gets her cool again and helps calm things down by remembering that she is a fireman. Andy thinks of a dangerous way to save Ben and Sullivan, and it works. Everyone lives, even the people who were stuck in the elevator. Theo seems happy in his new job as a paramedic for a private company.

Carina (Stefania Spampinato) runs into Theo while helping in a car accident and sees how happy he is now. Sullivan asked Ross to marry him when she was feeling thankful and relieved. She said yes after he promised to never make her “play or feel small.” Vic is angry that Mayor Osman cut Crisis One, so she goes after him in public, putting her job at risk. She is sent home and misses important events like Sullivan getting engaged and Maya deciding to give her eggs to research. At the end of the episode, Vic doesn’t answer Theo’s call for support, so he misses the team finally getting along and enjoying Andy’s promotion to captain. Andy got her late father’s captain’s badge, which was a sign of her growth and acceptance of her new job as captain.
