Station 19 Season 7 Episode 7 Recap

In this episode, we learn more about Maya Bishop’s personal problems as she deals with her brother Mason’s strange views and her journey to get pregnant. The team also has to deal with a tough call about a gender-reveal party, which makes Andy Herrera and the crew think about their own lives.

Maya is feeling very rough right now because her hormone treatment is almost over. She meets her brother Mason out of the blue. Mason has become radicalized with cruel ideas and is living with a group of people who share those views. When they fight, deep-seated problems come to the surface, and Maya sees she needs to cut ties with him for her own health. Maya is very upset about this choice, especially since she is getting ready for a very important part of her fertility treatment.

While Maya is having a rough time, Carina is feeling more calm about her malpractice claim. She decides to be kind instead of defensive and helps Nina’s mother outside of court. This decision, along with Maya’s choice to put her own happiness first, marks a turning point in their relationship.

The Tulalip tribe’s story in the “Station 19” episode 7, is about a gender-reveal party that goes wrong and starts a forest fire. When the station goes to the fire, Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) meets members of the Tulalip tribe who are praying for a tribe member in the intensive care unit. They tell Andy that they have permission to hold their event and are worried about the nearby gender-revealing party because they think it could start a fire.

Captain Henderson, a fireman from Tulalip, shows up and says he called the fire department because he saw how dangerous the gender-reveal party was. The fireworks at the party set off a fire in the forest, which forces the team to act to put out the fire.

Andy learns from this experience how important it is to work together and help each other in the community. She sees that she can’t handle all of her problems by herself and that getting help is very important. This makes her think of new ways to deal with the station’s budget problems.

Seeing the Tulalip tribe here makes me think of how important it is to respect and protect the earth and the power of community. The way they interacted with the station makes Andy want to be a more collaborative leader, stressing how important it is to work together to solve problems.

While most of the team is working on the forest fire, Ben (Jason Winston George), Beckett, and Travis have to deal with a woman who has a nail through her arm. Theo’s discomfort with his new job as a private EMT is brought to light by this event, while Ben’s surgery skills make him love medicine even more.

At the end of the episode, the team gets together at Joe’s Bar to show how well they get along with each other and how they are connected personally. Travis lets Vic know how he feels, and Ben’s increased energy leads to a fun moment with Bailey. Vic and Theo’s chance meeting at the bar suggests that things could go wrong in their relationship.
