She is hesitant about this since innocent people are about to get caught in the crossfire and urges him to wait a while. Baden promises to give her a full day. Sophie’s issues at home are made worse. The Financial Crimes Unit has requested James to report for duty. Sophie keeps pushing James farther into the rabbit hole by reminding him that Baden has information and is aware of the deception. In the end, Todd was the one who talked to Baden and revealed everything. On the roof of the office, Harrison and James question him about it and demand to know all he told Baden. In the meantime, Sophie attempts to withdraw $3 million from an account held in Tess Caldwell’s name. Sophie goes by this name. When the clerk chooses to go speak to her supervisor, it doesn’t seem good, and Sophie finally feels shaky. Baden organizes his proof and is ready to submit it. Sophie mulls over her options and decides that perhaps telling the truth and confessing would be the best course of action. This will allow Baden to delay if he determines that she will suffer the most harm. James is unsure of this. When Sophie turns up to see Baden, she confesses to having stolen the money. Baden wonders why she has so much faith in James. Sophie, who acknowledges that she is now having her memory back and does not wish to live with the guilt, won’t let someone else take responsibility for what she did. After all of this, Baden begins to doubt his own motivations and ultimately thinks they should flee together. He begs Sophie to left it all behind and comes with him. Sophie exits his office.
Baden was actually employed by Harrison to investigate Sophie. James makes the decision to take care of this after recognizing he can’t rely on this corrupt person. He subdues Baden physically. After destroying the proof of his stalking, Sophie meets Baden and asks him about his true identity. If Baden doesn’t erase the proof, Sophie threatens to report the extortion and entrapment to the authorities. Sophie screams back that it’s no longer up to him. When Sophie is back at her house, she tells James that she has been noticing a recurrent stranger on the pier. That black woman from a long time ago in the season reappears, and James starts to trust her. He believes Baden was the one who pushed her during a jealous fury outburst. Baden arrives at the cafe later that evening with some very severe facial injuries. Someone exposed his cover, making him a wanted man. Baden hands over a USB stick and makes the assurance that he is not there to cause harm. Naturally, Baden and James get into a physical altercation. shortly after this. However, there is proof indicating Sophie fell from the boat on that USB stick. When Sophie rushes up to Baden’s flat, she discovers that it has been broken into.
