A quiet home for sale. A son with unexplained scratches. A father hiding something behind locked doors. The second episode titled “Night Terrors” of SURREALESTATE Season 3 unearths a new case with deep emotional roots and a dangerous supernatural twist. As the Roman Agency takes on their latest client, a mystery unfolds that connects the grief of a desperate father with the terrifying cost of making a deal with darkness.
A HOUSE WITH LOCKED DOORS AND SECRETS
The episode begins with Susan (played by Sarah Levy) working to sell a property owned by Mitch (guest star), a father seemingly eager to leave his home behind. But Susan quickly senses something is off. The house gives her strange feelings—an uneasiness she can’t quite shake. She notices that the bedroom belonging to Mitch’s teenage son, Jalen (played by David Webster), has been locked. The decision to accept the first offer without negotiation raises a red flag for Susan, and it’s clear that both she and Mitch are hiding something.
Meanwhile, Jalen is exhibiting disturbing behavior. His room shows signs of violent activity—furniture overturned, claw marks on the walls. He’s been sleepwalking, Mitch explains, ever since recovering from a life-threatening illness several years ago. But Susan isn’t buying the “stress” excuse. When Jalen’s friend visits and witnesses Jalen growling, crouching, and losing control, it becomes clear this is something more than sleepwalking.

Luke Roman (Tim Rozon) and Susan decide to bring in help. With Auggie (Maurice Dean Wint) no longer a regular part of the team, they use his newly developed MED (Metaphysically Engaged Detector) device to assess the situation. What they discover is shocking: Jalen is exhibiting strength beyond any normal human—he’s bending iron with his bare hands.
Mitch’s secret comes to light. Years ago, when Jalen was dying from cancer, Mitch made a deal to save his son. He allowed a demon to possess Jalen in exchange for healing. The demon consumed the cancer—miraculously saving Jalen’s life. For a while, it seemed like a miracle. But now the demon is deteriorating and taking Jalen down with it.
Jalen’s fingernails are growing unnaturally long. He throws himself against the walls. His body is a battleground. Mitch, blinded by grief and desperate to keep his son alive, kept the truth from him. But when Jalen watches a video of himself in a possessed state, the reality of his condition hits hard.
Worse, Mitch hadn’t realized how far things had gone. Jalen was no longer only hurting himself—he was beginning to pose a danger to others. Instead of seeking help, Mitch tried to run, putting Jalen in even greater danger.

THE EXORCISM AND THE COST
Luke calls Auggie for backup. Despite no longer officially working with the Roman Agency, Auggie answers the call, bringing his equipment—and his expertise. The team manages to free Jalen from the demon. Mitch survives. Jalen, though changed, is himself again.
Jalen’s confrontation with his father is emotional. He makes it clear he would’ve preferred a shorter life than one controlled by a demon. His desire for normalcy over a tainted second chance hits hard. In a hopeful moment, Jalen even calms his friend’s father, who had been ready to act violently out of fear. It’s a peaceful end to a harrowing ordeal.
TROUBLE FOR AUGGIE AND ROCHELLE
While Auggie played a key role in saving Jalen, his decision has consequences. Rochelle, who is up for a promotion at ASDRA, is furious when she learns Auggie took classified tech from the agency. Without hesitation, she fires him.
The tension between Auggie’s professional life and personal ethics comes to a head. Rochelle values protocol, but Auggie thrives when he’s helping Luke and the Roman Agency. Her reaction shows little understanding or compassion for what Auggie risked or achieved. Their breakup feels inevitable, and perhaps for the better—Auggie has always been most fulfilled when working with the supernatural cases at the heart of Roman Ireland.
MEET AUDREY
This episode also introduces a new assistant at the Roman Agency: Audrey (guest star). She’s efficient, confident, and curious. But things turn complicated quickly.
Audrey asks about SMEP—Specialists in Metaphysically Engaged Properties—and is met with vague answers. Luke defines it simply as “homes with unique barriers to selling.” Audrey quickly figures out there’s more going on. Eventually, the team comes clean, revealing the truth behind their work.
Surprisingly, Audrey takes it in stride. She even helps in the mission to save Jalen, proving herself capable and open-minded. So, it’s a shock when, by the end of the episode, she quits. No dramatic exit, no big blowout—just gone. Perhaps she realized the job required more risk than she bargained for, or maybe she’s just the latest in a series of one-and-done hires. Whatever the reason, her departure leaves the agency back at square one once again.
THE MYSTERY OF TYLER MACNEIL CONTINUES
Episode 2 also continues the storyline involving Tyler MacNeil who first appeared in the season premiere. Tyler is selling a property with a disturbing backstory. When Alex (guest star) interacts with him, Tyler exhibits aggressive, almost threatening behavior, especially toward a member of the church.
Still, Alex accepts a lucrative offer—$100,000. But instead of leaving quietly, he ends up returning at just the right moment to save Luke from being stabbed by Tyler.
Tyler seems fixated on Luke for reasons not yet fully revealed. He implies a connection to Luke’s father and claims he was discarded and forgotten. In a bizarre final moment, Tyler announces he is “Elvis the Elephant”—a stuffed toy that Luke and Carl once dumped in a lake 35 years ago. This isn’t just a nickname. Tyler insists he is Elvis, hinting at possession or reincarnation. Either way, it’s deeply unsettling.
What is the true story behind this mysterious toy? Why is Tyler targeting Luke? Is this a personal haunting or something more sinister tied to Luke’s family history?
WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE ROMAN AGENCY?
The team at the Roman Agency is smaller than ever. With budget cuts clearly affecting the special effects and supporting cast, the show leans heavily on character development and dialogue. But as Mitch and Jalen’s case proves, the heart of SurrealEstate still beats strong.
Auggie might be back in the fold now that his relationship and ASDRA job are behind him. And with rotating assistants like Audrey making brief appearances, it’s hard to know who will stay and who will leave next.
As for the ongoing Tyler MacNeil mystery, it’s only getting stranger. The connection to Luke’s past—and a seemingly possessed stuffed animal—adds a new layer of tension that promises to unfold slowly over the coming episodes.
Will Luke get the answers he needs? Can the agency regain its strength and stability?
For now, the Roman Ireland Agency marches on.
