SWAT Season 6 Episode 21 Recap

At the start of the story, we meet Sanchez and Deacon, two guys who both work in private security. Sanchez has begun competing with Deacon and his security firm by forming his own. Sanchez is trying to establish a name for himself and attract customers by undercutting the rates charged by industry incumbents like Deacon. He is so intent on defeating Deacon that he has begun slandering Deacon’s business and poaching his customers.

The plot shifts gears when Deacon volunteers to help the DEA conduct a gang sweep. During the operation, they come across Marcos Guzman’s brother Shorty, who says that the Zamora cartel is after his family. The DEA seized $3 million in cartel funds, and now they want it back. The DEA is prepared to risk civilian lives in order to bring cartel leader Ulan Zamora to the United States and recover the stolen funds.

As the plot develops, Marcos is compelled to negotiate a deal with the cartel in order to safeguard his family, and he ultimately aids the police in their pursuit of Ulan Zamora. Shorty is killed in transit, and the cops are powerless to help him. In the final scene, Deacon warns Sanchez to back off, and Hicks, a seasoned police officer, toasts to another forty years of service. But Hicks isn’t interested in rejoicing because he’s still grieving the losses he’s suffered throughout his career. Hondo gave him a bottle of his favorite alcohol as a gift.
