Jackpot! (2024), action comedy film was directed by Paul Feig and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet. It centers on Katie (played by Awkwafina), who becomes a lucky lottery winner in 2030 California. The twist? It’s a real law: anyone who has a bad-luck lottery ticket has the right to try to kill her before sunset to win the prize. To get ahead, Katie connects with Noel (John Cena), an inexperienced lottery security agent, with whom she makes a deal – he helps her and gets a piece of the pie.
When Katie and Noel are running in the place and trying to escape from the dangerous dangers lurking behind, they eventually get trapped in the panic room. This panic room which is in the house of Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly) is supposedly built by Tettas Security which is a company mentioned in the movie. But in reality, it was interesting to see that Tettas Security is mentioned. Is it a real security.
IS TETTAS SECURITY A REAL SECURITY COMPANY IN JACKPOT (2024)?
Tettas Security is not a real company that can really be in the market. It was designed to enrich the film’s plot and to be used for jokes revolving around Machine Gun Kelly’s cameo. This security company has a fancy name which implies that it’s in a high class and offers services such as installing of panic rooms which in fact it does not. Finally, it is also possible to discuss the scene in the film as a very effective and rather provocative narrative move, which refers to the modern fashion of celebrities’ installation of panic rooms in their residences.
Katie had jokingly proposed as to what could ever be so valuable that it requires such a heavy security feature anywhere, including a house, to be Tango’s; little did she know this could be the saving of her life. However, there is to this date no real evidence to show that the musician even has a panic room in the first place. The film just refers to the phenomena of celebrities’APT or, as some call it, celebrities’ obsession with reinforcement with examples of Madonna and Paul McCartney being among the protectees.
Machine Gun Kelly included in Jackpot! brings extra value to watch the film because it is a kind of unpredictability. Paul Feig, the director of ‘Spy’, had planned to incorporate a celebrity cameo since he started out with the project but it was not an easy task to cast a celebrity. MGK chimed in to this with much zeal taking it as a chance to try out comedy improvisation. Such involvement or interference proved to make his small part visible and enjoyable to watch.
Despite the fact that it sounds like a real security company protecting people with high living standards and offering security systems for a very special and expensive type of safe room called ‘pank room’, Tettas Security is part of Jackpot! universe only. The movie spoofs celebrity security and panic rooms while having Machine Gun Kelly be a part of cameos. But for a real panic room, you have to look at real security companies which, of course, Tettas Security is not.
