‘The Afterparty’ Season 2 Episode 3 Recap

When Grace (Poppy Liu)  finds Edgar’s dead body, Travis, one of her ex-boyfriends, becomes a person of interest because of his strange behavior and his presence outside the room. Travis asserts that Grace sent him a coded message through the wedding invitation, and he believes Edgar is involved in a cryptocurrency scheme. Travis discovers evidence at Edgar’s home office that suggests Edgar intended to fake his own death and flee with his riches, even though his logical abilities may be doubtful. Additionally, Travis creates a partnership with Hannah, Edgar’s sister, who appears to want to thwart the nuptials.

When Zoe searches Edgar’s corpse for evidence against Hannah, she finds a prescription for Adderall, disproving Grace’s claim that Edgar dislikes prescription medications. She also discovers a cufflink that Grace recognizes as Hannah’s typewriter key. As Zoe looks through Hannah’s room, she discovers a typewriter with the same key missing, which fuels her suspicion. Furthermore, Hannah’s garden has poisonous plants that might have been used to kill Edgar.

In the episode’s last minutes, Zoe finds proof connecting Hannah to the crime. In light of its hallucinogenic qualities and Edgar’s disoriented state on the night of his death, she suggests that a plant known as Devil’s trumpet might have been used as a murder weapon. Hannah is now the new suspect as a result of this newly discovered information because she had access to the poison and had demonstrated reasons for trying to derail the wedding. However, as the Devil’s trumpet was a part of the wedding’s centerpiece adornment, it should be mentioned that everyone had access to it.

The episode also features Sebastian, who confronts Travis about Edgar’s father’s preoccupation with a horse and offers a possible code or password that could be important. There are questions about Sebastian’s role and intentions as a result of his activities. Hannah is now the main suspect as episode 3 comes to a close, but Sebastian and Hannah are still being investigated. The upcoming episode of The Afterparty promises to delve deeper into Hannah’s persona and reveal more surprises.
