Spoiler Warning: The sad turn of events involving Adan Canto‘s character Arman Morales in the most recent episode of The Cleaning Lady left fans in shock. Three months after Canto died, his on-screen alter ego had a terrible end, which added a touching layer to the story of the show.
Ramona (Kate del Castillo), Arman’s aunt, was getting more and more impatient for his safe return at the start of the episode. She was annoyed by the wait and made it clear that she was going to do something. The story then went back to a flashback of Arman as a teenager enjoying his birthday. This showed how complicated Ramona’s relationship with Arman’s father was since the father had told her to stay away from his son because she was involved with drug money.
Once Ramona had a close relationship with her nephew, she kept working on plans to save him. Ramona set up a safe house with medical help for Arman so he could get better. The safe house also had healing activities, like taking care of horses, that were meant to help Arman and Nadia (Eva De Dominici) get over their terrible experiences. Ramona did offer to help, but she had some conditions. Arman and Nadia had to stay in her cartel as trusted members of her close circle.
Nadia wasn’t sure at first if she should take up the offer, but she insisted on being Arman’s go-to person for the trade. After some convincing, Ramona agreed, but she warned Nadia that the deal would depend on her doing a good job.
Fiona (Martha Millan), meanwhile, told Thony (Élodie Yung) that she should think about her feelings for Arman once he was safe. By looking into the drugs that were used on Arman, Thony found out that Dante (Clayton Cardenas) was the one who took him.
Dante, one of Ramona’s trusted lieutenants, had been helping Arman get better. But as things got worse between Dante and Thony, he did something very bad. Thony started to think that Jorge (Santiago Cabrera) might have been involved in the kidnapping, which made her act. With Fiona’s help, Thony made a medicine that they could use to treat Arman when they found him.
During their search, they found a building where Arman was being held. Even though he ran into problems and got high by mistake from spilled drugs, Thony was able to find Arman’s room. She was happy at first but soon lost it when she learned Arman wasn’t there. This caused a desperate car chase to find him and save him.

The Cleaning Lady Season 3 Episode 6: Arman Morales Dies [Explained]
While Thony (Elodie Yung) and Fiona (Martha Millan) were each looking for Arman on their own, their paths crossed with those who were holding him, which led to a tense fight. When Arman had to, he gave up something important and pushed Thony’s gun away, which sent his truck off a cliff. At the end of the show, Thony’s heartbreaking reaction as she looked over the edge of the cliff confirmed Arman’s tragic end.
As a moving tribute to Canto’s life, the episode showed a scene from Season 1 in which Thony and Arman danced to the song “El Reloj,” and kissed in Mexico. “In Loving Memory — Adan Canto,” the last tribute card, was a moving reminder of how much the character meant to the show and its viewers.
Renshaw, who is also co-showrunner for the show, said that Season 3 was originally planned to be a “Arman-driven season,” but the scripts were changed to account for Canto’s departure. Even though the loss was very sad, Renshaw said that he hoped the show would honor Canto’s memory in a meaningful way, so that the cast and audience could all deal with their grief together.
