After all, Salen could be on the verge of a meltdown if she realizes the surgical team isn’t on board with her principles. She is going to find out about the surgical staff’s plans to join Audrey Lim in her attempt to take her down. Meanwhile, The staff will be quite busy with a liver transplant patient in this episode. The organ donor will unintentionally be given cancer to the transplant recipient. A pregnant surrogate mother will be on the scene this upcoming episode 10. She will be diagnosed with cancer. So, we’ll watch Jordan, Asher, and Andrews try to figure out a way to get rid of this lady’s cancer without having to perform a hysterectomy on her. Jordan opened the door, and Lea inquires as to whether she had a couch. Jordan informs Shaun that Lea has taken up residence on her couch. She informs him that he is unearthing irrelevant information. She reminds him that she loves her for who she is: an imperfect but completely great person. Salen had dismissed Lim from the chief of surgery and replaced her with former chief Andrews. Andrews then took on the high-profile case of Nelly Dunn, one-half of a broken sister act ( WelcomrAly and AJ Michalka!) who needed a risky treatment to restore her vocal cords in order to please Salen. Nelly came close to passing out on the table which would have served Andrews well, given how he had continually dismissed Shaun’s very genuine fears but she pulled through. Meanwhile, rather than allowing Salen to push her out the door, Lim chose to stay and fight for the hospital where she had worked for the previous 17 years. Rather than accepting a post as head of trauma at San Jose General, Lim would stay at St. Bonaventure.
Jordan, like Shaun, refused to join Lim’s merry band of freedom warriors. With only four months left on his residency, Park was hesitant to join Lim, but he couldn’t allow Salen’s reign to continue in good conscience. At the conclusion of the hour, Glassman joined Lim’s crusade. Cody has a little tumor on his pancreas that, if removed, may allow him to walk again. Joe declines, stating that he cannot jeopardize Cody’s safety. Cody’s operation goes well, he and Joe will be able to work together again. Shaun storms out of the room, unhappy that he was wrong. Salen offers Marcus a drink to congratulate him on Nelly’s surgery. When Shaun enters, he informs Salen that she has turned Marcus into a bad doctor and that he must go before she turns him into a bad doctor. Then he walks out after announcing his resignation. Dr. Marcus approaches Lim and informs her that he has arrived. Lim proposes that we get her bandit ass out of town.
