At the end of Doctor Strange 2, we were left with a lot of questions about the crazy multiverse. For example, there are two post-credits scenes and a major Marvel movie character’s story seems to be over.
The Illuminati will be seeing you right now, although briefly. In-universe 838, a group of superheroes responsible for making decisions that affect the multiverse is introduced, featuring some of the film’s biggest cameos. Reed Richards is played by John Krasinski, Professor X is played by Patrick Stewart, Captain Marvel is played by Lashana Lynch, Captain Carter is played by Haley Atwell, Black Bolt of the Inhumans is played by Anson Mount, and Baron Mordo is played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
They don’t last long, though, as Wanda kills them all in her attempt to reclaim Chavez. Richards is torn by Wanda while Black Bolt’s mouth is severed, causing him to kill himself with his voice. Captain Carter is killed by her own shield, which Scarlet Witch throws at her, Captain Marvel is crushed by a statue, and Professor X’s neck is snapped within 838’s Wanda’s brain. Mordo, who was last seen in handcuffs, is the only one who has survived.
