The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 5: [On Demand] New Release Date & Time Here!

Episode 5 Joel Looking Sad

As The Last of Us’s popularity grows, it’s understandable that HBO would want to shield the show. Episode 3, which featured Parks and Recreation’s Nick Offerman and The White Lotus’ Murray Bartlett, was critically acclaimed and drew 6.4 million viewers last Sunday. After the fantastic third episode of The Last of Us, the fourth episode of the series finally delves into the heart of what makes this narrative so unique: the relationship between Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). As they travel to Wyoming in search of Joel’s brother, Tommy(Gabriel Luna), we are finally given the opportunity to spend a considerable amount of time with this couple on their own for the first time.  The fifth episode of “The Last of Us” was excellent in terms of both its suspense and its contribution to the progression of the story. The sixth episode looks like it will be more interesting than the previous ones. There is a new release date for The Last of Us Episode 105 available on www.tvacute.com.

The premiere of episode 4 for season 1 is still scheduled for Sunday, February 12 at 9 pm/ET, right before Super Bowl LVII.  This episode five gets the latest adventure of Ellie and Joel to viewers well ahead of the big game Sunday which has the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. The decision to screen Episode 5 earlier than usual in order to capitalize on the series’ unprecedented popularity is not something that is planned to continue, since all subsequent episodes, up until the season finale on March 12, will be broadcast at their regularly scheduled times on Sundays.

The Last of Us has recently been given the green light for a second season, which bodes well for the show’s long-term prospects as well as its current viability. Druckmann and Mazin still have a lot of material to draw from, including the downloadable content known as Left Behind, which follows Ellie as she engages in a flashback reminiscing about her days with her close friend and love interest Riley, and The Last of Us Part II, which takes place many years later and investigates the cycle of vengeance between Ellie, Joel, and a new character known as Abby.
