Officers Nolan and Bailey will eventually learn that there is more to Fred’s death than they first suspected. At some point, Officers Chen and Bradford will be in the spotlight. When we see them, they’ll be in the middle of apprehending a slew of female criminals who also happen to be extremely wealthy. Chen and Bradford will also want a rematch of the treasure search at some point. There’s a serious story here, but there’s also some fun for Bradford and Chen. Can it help them develop a long-term romance? Officer Grey will be brought in to help set up the new bet’s rules.

A man is ruining city property by digging up a hold in the center of a park in search of buried gold. Thorsten is appointed as Nolan’s new campaign manager. Jerry is so lovely that no one wants to tell him to resign, so Grey assigns Bradford the task of convincing him to retire. He joins Bradford on his ride. Chen joins Nolan on his journey. The arson case is being investigated by Nolan, Chen, and Bailey. Lucy begins deciphering the treasury hunt’s clues. When they arrive, the pier is jam-packed with people. A hatchet is used to stab a woman. The woman passes away. As they strive to figure out this treasure quest to find gold, Chen deciphers the clues alone with Thorsten. Harper and Chen are working on cracking the gold casing. Grey is with Thorsten. Chenford makes a wager on who will be the first to uncover the riches. Angela and Wesley discuss and debate a case together. Brandford and Jerry visit with Stuart, the author who was arrested for the treasure quest years ago. He had pancreatic cancer and was dying, so when he was denied access to his fortune, he resolved to let anarchy reign.
They follow a clue to a conservatory, where they come upon a man with explosives who is attempting to blow up a wall but ends up blowing himself up. Bradford tries to persuade Jerry to return to work, but he runs into Jerry’s daughter Ashley. He has dinner plans with both of them. Nolan and Bailey arrive for the party, which is being hosted by Bailey’s captain. While there, he receives information that her boss, Fred, maybe the arsonist. He informs Angela, and Bailey apprehends him. When Angel and Nolan confront her about it, she denies it. Harper and Chen get a new piece of information about the clues. Bailey phones Nolan with Fred’s information and appears to be plotting a means to obtain them enough money or a warrant. They all chase down a new site for the gold when another treasure hunter shoots the other and they capture him. Bradford is technically the winner of the wager. They call it a tie, and Jerry says it’s his last case, and he’s glad he got to go the way he came in. Bailey breaks into Fred’s office and discovers the arson victims’ personal items. She dials Nolan’s number to inform him. Fred comes in and discovers Bailey has left something out while he’s on his way out. When they arrive at Fred’s house and are about to enter, it explodes. After giving Jerry a farewell, Bradford approaches Ashley and asks her out.
