The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: Steven Taylor Kiss

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

Conrad begins the episode having a lot of panic attacks because of Susannah’s passing. During one of Conrad’s episodes, Steven tries to help out as a caring buddy. This raises the question of whether Conrad told Susannah Fisher (Rachel Blanchard) about his difficulties or if he kept them a secret, potentially explaining his emotional isolation from other people.

As the house is being prepared for an open house to sell, Julia and her child Skye (Elsie Fisher) move in. Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney), in particular, feels Julia should not have sold the family house, which causes tension between her and the other children. The complexity of their relationship is highlighted, though, when Julia talks about how Susannah and Conrad set up their rooms differently. Despite their close relationship, Julia is adamant about selling the house, which causes conflict with the kids.

Taylor (Rain Spencer) cautions her against getting embroiled in their drama and urges that she concentrate on her own life and goals instead, thus Belly’s reconnection with the boys also causes anxiety. Belly is torn between her love for the house and her struggles with her own problems, such as her passion for volleyball and uncertainty about going to college.

The kids choose to spend the day at an amusement park when the AC broke down during the open house. In order to better comprehend Aunt Julia’s intentions, Belly invites cousin Skye, who identifies as non-binary, to accompany them on the boardwalk. Everyone is taken aback when Julia invites Skye to join them. Skye sheds light on the tumultuous connection between the sisters by disclosing details of a dispute between Susannah and Julia. Conrad is reminded by Skye of the unresolved argument that Julia and Susannah had at a previous Christmas meal, which highlights the tense bond between the sisters.

Laurel Park (Jackie Chung) meets Cleveland Castillo (Alfredo Narciso), a past love interest, who encourages her to talk about her thoughts as she struggles to accept Susannah’s death. Laurel’s path to emotional processing has been helpful in dispelling preconceptions about Asian women concealing their feelings.

The youngsters socialize and participate in a variety of activities during their trip to the boardwalk, which brings back happy memories of their summers as kids. Belly is inspired by the day to think back on her interactions with Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly feels jealous of Conrad’s easygoing demeanor since she believes he still views her as a child. But Jeremiah’s constant friendship and support throughout their childhood resound with her.

The intricate nature of the love triangle is symbolized by Belly and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) holding hands as they ride the Tower of Terror in a crucial scene. Belly’s buddy Taylor recognizes the occasion and makes a suggestion about possible future romantic involvement. Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah are still involved in a love triangle, which is producing conflict and ambiguity in their relationships.

The kids later discover the beach house to be utterly vacant and that all of their prized possessions have vanished. Everyone is strongly affected by the sudden loss and is shocked and saddened by the quick upheaval. The emotional distress of the protagonists as the episode comes to a close paves the way for future episodes of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” to further explore their relationships and the effects of losing the beach house.
